The other two were also sequels\u00a0\u2014 \u201cTop Gun: Maverick,\u201d This was achieved in just one month. \u201cJurassic World Dominion,\u201d This took four full months.<\/p>\n<p>Variety\u2019s report also noted that \u201cSpider Man: No Way Home\u201d (2021) was the most recent movie to deliver a $1 billion box office take within two weeks \u2014 and only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/fastest-grossing-movies-1-billion-box-office-two-weeks-2022-10#2-avengers-infinity-war-11-days-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">six movies<\/a> Within two weeks of their initial release, they have surpassed $1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom\u201d (14 days)\u201cJurassic World\u201d (13 days)\u201cStar Wars: The Force Awakens\u201d (12 days)\u201cSpider Man: No Way Home\u201d (12 days)\u201cAvengers: Infinity War\u201d (11 days)\u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d (5 days)<\/p>\n<p>Cameron said that $1 billion is just half the battle. He has told reporters that because of the film\u2019s massive operating budget \u2014 and millions in additional promotional material \u2014 the movie would have to top $2 billion in order for him to break even on the project. However, despite Cameron\u2019s assertion, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/avatar-the-way-of-water-900-million-worldwide-1235472877\/#:~:text=Cameron%20estimated%20the%20movie%20needs,probably%20closer%20to%20%241.5%20billion.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a> According to reports, \u201canalysts believe the threshold to profitability is probably closer to $1.5 billion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron has also already invested time and money in two additional installments to the \u201cAvatar\u201d franchise \u2014 he reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/james-cameron-already-shot-avatar-3-and-4-to-avoid-stranger-things-effect-teens-who-look-like-theyre-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">already filmed<\/a> The third movie as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/avatar-3-filming-nearly-complete-jon-landau-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">parts<\/a> The fourth was chosen to keep continuity and to avoid his actors getting old before the projects are over.<\/p>\n<p>The first \u201cAvatar\u201d Film still holds the record for the highest-grossing movie in cinema history with a gross of $2.97 Billion in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron made headlines earlier this week when he disclosed that he had at least cut a dozen times during a press tour to promote the sequel. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/james-cameron-cut-10-minutes-of-guns-from-new-avatar-flick-over-fears-hed-fetishize-firearms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ten minutes<\/a> The three-hour epic of gun play over concerns that he might \u201cfetishize\u201d firearms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually cut about 10 minutes of the movie targeting gunplay action. I wanted to get rid of some of the ugliness, to find a balance between light and dark. You have to have conflict, of course. Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it.
