The demographics of this group favor young men. This deflates the notion, that many older people lost their jobs in the shutdowns and simply retired early. The national labor force participation rate is still 1.3% lower than it was before the pandemic started. There are approximately six million unfilled jobs across the country. So where are all of these people and why haven\u2019t they gone out to take new jobs? Fox Business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/unemployment-benefits-obamacare-subsidies-outpace-median-income-several-states-study-finds?intcmp=tw_fnc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports this week<\/a> One reason could be the attractive benefits of a combination extended unemployment payments with Obamacare subsidies, which provide enough cash to allow many people to live comfortably while they are at home.<\/p>\n<p>The labor force participation rates were 62.1% and 63.4% respectively last month.\u00a0<a id=\"reader.external-link.num-4\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the coronavirus pandemic<\/a>\u00a0In March 2020, the United States was struck.<\/p>\n<p>There are numerous reasons that unemployed Americans aren\u2019t entering the workforce, including ongoing fears of COVID-19, disabilities such as \u201clong COVID,\u201d Care responsibilities.
