Is it possible to defend views that are considered bigoted, even those associated with the most horrific acts of violence in the 20th century? That\u2019s another matter, but it\u2019s covered under the First Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s amazing how times have changed.<\/p>\n<p>Too often, American Civil Liberties Union has remained silent regarding the current free speech battle. Take comedian Gavin McInnes\u2019 beef with Rutherford, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/aclu-cancel-culture-tik-tok\/\"><strong>RELATED: ACLU READY TO FIGHT FOR CHINA\u2019S TIK TOK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>McInnes, who was the founder of Proud Boys but quit it two years later, filed a lawsuit against the city after he cancelled a comedy show slated for the Williams Center in November.<\/p>\n<p>The suit claims that the borough violated McInnes\u2019 First Amendment rights \u2026\u00a0McInnes, who also co-founded Vice magazine, is accusing the Police Department of canceling the show, an action that was later \u201cratified\u201d according to the suit.<\/p>\n<p>The town\u2019s police chief admitted to calling for the event\u2019s cancellation due to potential violence. McInnes\u2019s conservative stances have enraged groups like Antifa, which purport to fight fascism but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sen-cruz-to-chair-hearing-on-antifa-violence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">often use violence<\/a> against those who don\u2019t share its radical Left views.<\/p>\n<p>Hollywood in Toto reached to the ACLU to comment on McInnes suit.
