In the name of Covid, Democratic governors made radical changes to state election policies. These included mandating universal mail in balloting and a month&#8217;s early voting. These changes have been retained by some states.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats aren&#8217;t satisfied and they shouldn&#8217;t be.\u00a0With their gubernatorial power retained (they kept all but one of the governor\u2019s offices)\u00a0and newfound control of state legislatures in both Michigan\u00a0and Minnesota, Democrats are keen to ram through a whole gamut of unprecedented and unconstitutional changes.\u00a0It\u2019s working, so they\u2019re going to keep doing it.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/12\/26\/us\/politics\/democrats-voting-rights.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, Democrats\u2019 list of policy proposals for 2023 includes expanding automatic voter registration systems, preregistering\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/14\/democrats-court-their-newest-voting-bloc-high-schoolers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">teenagers to vote<\/a>, granting felons the right to vote and criminalizing what the left considers election \u201cmisinformation.\u201d These policy recommendations have nothing to do with the actual issue. \u201cvoting rights,\u201d but Democrats package them as such, and slander their opponents as \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 racists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You should not be confused about the purpose of these proposals. Automatic voter registration is one example. The New York Times notes that such a system \u2014 already adopted by 20 states \u2014 \u201cadds anyone whose information is on file with a government agency \u2014 such as a department of motor vehicles or a social services bureau \u2014 to [a state\u2019s] voter rolls unless they opt out.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>During the 2020 election, Michigan\u2019s Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson sent out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/accounts\/MISOS\/bulletins\/2a4effc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">automatic voter registration forms<\/a>\u00a0To all Michigan residents who are eligible. The mailer was sent to all eligible Michigan residents.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/11\/democratic-operatives-control-voter-rolls-in-31-states-report-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">114,000 people were automatically added<\/a>\u00a0to Michigan\u2019s voter rolls.
