The Arctic chill that struck the country left many without power and caused (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/12\/26\/1145536902\/southwest-flight-cancellations-winter-storm\" class=\"stylish-link\">according<\/a> Southwest Airlines was also responsible for thousands of cancelled flights.<\/p>\n<p>The airline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/12\/26\/1145536902\/southwest-flight-cancellations-winter-storm\" class=\"stylish-link\">canceled<\/a> There were over 2,900 flights Monday alone. There were also 2,500 Tuesday and Wednesday flights. Many of these flights continued well into Wednesday. That\u2019s between 60% to 70% of its overall daily flight schedules. However, while Southwest blamed the weather, other airlines didn&#8217;t experience the same problems.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Southwest flight cancellations accounted for 50% of all global flights that were cancelled today. While all airlines are currently dealing with the winter storm in the US, Southwest is the only one that has not been affected. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dGOwrwPYT3\" class=\"stylish-link\">https:\/\/t.co\/dGOwrwPYT3<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Liaobah7pN\" class=\"stylish-link\">pic.twitter.com\/Liaobah7pN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jake Swearingen (@JakeSwearingen) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JakeSwearingen\/status\/1607523496695070721?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" class=\"stylish-link\">December 26, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Southwest was responsible for 50% of the Monday flight cancellations. Delta cancelled 262 flights. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/southwest-airlines-cancels-flights-holiday-metldown-2022-12\" class=\"stylish-link\">comparison<\/a>United had 133 and American only 12, respectively (though they experienced nearly 800 delays).
