One thing that I do know is this: <em>Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em> This holiday season, it has been a major part of my holiday celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>As children, we watched every year. <em>Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em> When it was first broadcast on television. It was always on CBS, and Peter Paul candies sponsored it \u2014 I still remember the York Peppermint Patty and \u201cSometimes you feel like a nut\u201d commercials.<\/p>\n<p>But it wasn\u2019t just on TV that I experienced <em>Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em>. The book and the recording contained the majority of the script. I probably listened to it more often than Christmastime. I can still quote most of the dialogue from the characters to this day.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s so much that drew me to the \u201cPeanuts\u201d Comic strip and to <em>Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em>. As a precocious kid, I understood many of the references in those comics that many of my peers didn\u2019t. Charlie Brown, the child who managed to be both different and still fit in, was someone I could relate with. The ball started rolling when Lee Mendelson, a television production producer, wanted to film a documentary about Charles M. Schulz. \u201cPeanuts\u201d creator.
