There were indications that Tuesday would see the policy lifted, which could mean an increase of migrant releases.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.borderreport.com\/immigration\/migrant-releases-could-be-norm-under-title-8-experts-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NewsNation\u2019s partner Border Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s administration has not yet made any systemic changes to address the expected surge in migrants if restrictions are lifted. A bipartisan immigration bill\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/us-news\/immigration\/millions-left-in-limbo-as-popular-immigration-reforms-stall\/\" target=\"_blank\">bill in Congress has been buried<\/a>\u00a0Just as Republicans are poised to take control, so is the House.<\/p>\n<p>According to the administration Title 42 will end and Title 8 will continue. Title 8 expelled migrants who don&#8217;t have legal grounds to stay in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is warning immigrants that the administration is continuing to enforce Title 42, after the Supreme Court temporarily halted the Trump-era policy\u2019s expiration.<\/p>\n<p>     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/weather\/death-toll-from-winter-storm-rises-power-outages-continue\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" class=\"promo-link__link\" target=\"\" _blank rel=\"noopener\"> Death toll in western New York rises to 28 from winter storm <\/a>   <\/p>\n<p>The DHS on Saturday said regardless of an immigrant\u2019s nationality, \u201cAnyone attempting to enter without authorization is subject to expulsion under Title 42.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who cannot be expelled pursuant to Title 42 may be placed in expedited removal and anyone ordered removed subject to a bar on entry for 5 years under Title 8,\u201d The agency was also added.<\/p>\n<p>More restrictions were used than\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/us-news\/immigration\/the-us-mexico-border-crisis-at-a-glance\/\" target=\"_blank\">2.5 million times to expel migrants\u00a0<\/a>Who came into the U.S. to be with their families?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DALLAS (NewsNation) \u2014 The Trump-era policy that allows border officials to turn away migrants at the southern border, known as Title 42,\u00a0is expected to expire Tuesday\u00a0After months of legal back-and-forth, the Biden administration attempted to end the policy in spring 2022.
