I wanted to get rid of some of the ugliness, to find a balance between light and dark,\u201d He stated. \u201cYou have to have conflict, of course. Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it. This is the dilemma of every action filmmaker, and I\u2019m known as an action filmmaker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/james-cameron-flies-one-finger-salute-to-fans-leaving-avatar-the-way-of-water-screening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cameron<\/a> went on to explain that other scenes were left in despite their brutality \u2014 like one in which hunters are taking enjoyment from the slow, deliberate stalking of one of the Tulkun. \u201cThere\u2019s a moral crime,\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n<p>He concluded the interview with an assessment of how the second film differed from the first \u2014 2009\u2019s \u201cAvatar\u201d \u2014 in the way that the final scenes played out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first film has the good guys and the bad guys seemingly equally opposed, and then the good guys get crushed and defeated and many of the heroes die. Then there\u2019s this almost \u2018deus ex machina\u2019 where Jake invokes the forces of nature\u2014a \u2018deus ex machina\u2019 I think is earned by the way,\u201d He explained. \u201cThe second film doesn\u2019t work that way at all. The battle is not even a battle, it\u2019s a rout. It\u2019s the revenge of the Na\u2019vi and the Tulkun. The real challenge, and the real defeat, and the thing that must be recovered from, happens after the battle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron is said to have gone all in on the franchise and filmed the third and fourth installments of the film before the first was released. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/james-cameron-already-shot-avatar-3-and-4-to-avoid-stranger-things-effect-teens-who-look-like-theyre-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ensure continuity<\/a>, but his comments suggest a deliberate move away from more scenes featuring firearms \u2014 and he even went so far as to say he would reconsider making some of his more famous films for the same reason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look back on some films that I\u2019ve made, and I don\u2019t know if I would want to make that film now.
