Liddy, Maricopa County Deputy Attorney, wrote Monday in a 15 page memo.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/4541\/638076446367828773\">pdf<\/a>Ask Judge Peter Thompson for the sanction and attorney fees. \u201cThey do not exist so that candidates for political office can attempt to make political statements and fundraise. And they should not be used to harass political opponents and sow completely unfounded doubts about the integrity of elections. All of those things happened in this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs\u2019s legal team joined the motion for sanctions, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnough really is enough. It is past time to end unfounded attacks on elections and unwarranted accusations against elections officials,\u201d It also contained the following words. \u201cThis matter was brought without any legitimate justification, let alone a substantial one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the memo, it was also stated that Lake \u201cand her counsel doubled down with the present action \u2026 this Court should sanction both lawyers and client under [Arizona law] to impart to them the seriousness of their misuse of the courts to seek to undermine Arizona elections and impugn hardworking elections workers and officials for purely political \u2013 not legal \u2013 purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lake must pay $25,050 to Hobbs and Maricopa County for their attorney fees.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has contacted Lake\u2019s team for comment.
