Despite the presence of a quarterback and a prized passer, the Broncos have had a difficult season scoring points. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-russell-wilson-to-denver-broncos-in-blockbuster-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"5\">acquisition Russell Wilson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"25\">\u201cFollowing extensive conversations with (general manager) George (Paton) and our ownership group, we determined a new direction would ultimately be in the best interest of the Broncos,\u201d Walton\u2019s son-in-law, Greg Penner, said in a statement. \u201cThis change was made now out of respect for everyone involved and allows us to immediately begin the search for a new head coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"26\">Already, the Broncos will be out of the playoffs for the 7th consecutive season. Pat Bowlen was the previous owner. The Broncos won three Super Bowls, including back to back in 1998 and 1999.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"27\">Hackett, who had previously served three seasons as the Green Bay Packers&#8217; offensive coach, was hired by Hackett in January. He edged out former Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O\u2019Connell, who instead was hired by the Minnesota Vikings who are 12-3 under him. The Broncos made Hackett their first-round pick and two second-rounders, then signed Wilson to a five year, $245 million contract.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"33\">Wilson is having his worst season and he played poorly again Sunday throwing three interceptions. The team averages just 15.5 points per games with Wilson, the likely future Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"36\">Hackett made several questionable decisions throughout the season. The first was against Seattle.
