Marc Elias, a well-known lawyer known for his work as the &#8220;Lawyer Who&#8230;&#8221; could get most of that money. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/lawyer-linked-to-steele-dossier-back-in-spotlight-working-for-mcauliffe-in-virginia-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">directed funding<\/a> from Hillary Clinton\u2019s 2016 presidential campaign and Democratic National Committee that went toward British ex-spy Christopher Steele\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/christopher-steele-holds-firm-on-defending-discredited-dossier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">now-discredited anti-Trump dossier<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs filed motions in her capacity as Arizona\u2019s secretary of state, the top elections position in the state, and candidate. In the second, she declared $56,585 \u201cdefinite\u201d fees and expenses for last week\u2019s trial, of which $35,762.50 is for Elias\u2019 firm, the Elias Law Group. Another $20,822.50 was listed for the Perkins Coie law firm, which happens to be Elias\u2019 former employer during the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Also included in the filing are estimated fees \u201cfor additional legal services in connection with the election contest,\u201d Reserved approximately $457.032.50 for Elias Law Group, and $93,177.50 perkins coie<\/p>\n<p>After Lake, a Republican supported by President Donald Trump, lost the November contest by approximately 17,000 votes to Hobbs, Hobbs and Maricopa County, Lake sued Maricopa County.<\/p>\n<p>Maricopa County, which includes the capital of Phoenix and is Arizona\u2019s most populous county, struggled with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/arizona-two-counties-delay-election-certification-as-ag-issues-letter-concerning-statutory-violations-in-maricopa-county\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">problems<\/a> During the November 8th election, this included printer- and tabulation machine-related problems. This led to Lake\u2019s suit claiming thousands of Republican voters were disenfranchised and argued \u201chundreds of thousands of illegal ballots infected the election in Maricopa County.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson initially dismissed eight out of 10 claims in Lake\u2019s lawsuit, but allowed two claims to proceed that had to do with allegations of intentional misconduct related to malfunctioning ballot printers and a failure to follow ballot chain-of-custody procedures. After a brief trial in Phoenix,\u00a0the judge determined on Saturday that Lake and the witnesses she called to testify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/4531\/638074764564181393\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">failed to make an adequate case<\/a>, even after being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/kari-lake-scores-legal-win-in-maricopa-county\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">granted limited ballot inspections<\/a>. Lake <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/judge-rules-against-kari-lake-in-election-lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vowed to appeal the ruling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Maricopa County attorneys argued in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/4541\/638076446367828773\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16-page filing<\/a> that Lake\u2019s suit was \u201cgroundless\u201d And \u201cnot made in good faith.\u201d They also argued Lake attacked the court\u2019s integrity after the lawsuit was dismissed, citing a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LaurieRoberts\/status\/1607397565695426560\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweet<\/a> Share a <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/columnists\/print\/2617566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link to a Townhall column<\/a> Highlighting a line that reads, \u201cLegal experts believe his decision was ghostwritten, they suspect top left-wing attorneys like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrats-high-powered-attorney-marc-elias-testifies-in-sussmann-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marc Elias<\/a> emailed him [the judge] what to say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I asked Kari lake a few days back what conspiracy theory she might offer to explain her loss in the election contest lawsuit.
