Check out More 19FortyFive Videos<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@19fortyfive\/videos\"> Here<\/a>) <\/p>\n<p>In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a partial mobilization of the Russian reserves, calling up approximately 300,000 men to arms. <\/p>\n<p>The influx of Russian reservists to frontline units gave a much-needed manpower boost to the flagging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.19fortyfive.com\/2022\/12\/putins-crisis-russia-is-losing-an-insane-500-troops-a-day-in-ukraine\/\">Russian military<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Up to that point, the Russian commanders had had to move around troops from one part of the front to another in order to conduct offensive operations.<\/p>\n<p>But that created gaps in the Russian defenses, something which the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2022\/12\/23\/ukraine-weapons-biden\/\">Ukrainians<\/a> saw and shrewdly exploited with surprise and lighting counteroffensives, first in the east and then in the south. <\/p>\n<p>The onrush of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.19fortyfive.com\/2022\/11\/ukraine-war-whose-side-will-general-winter-take\/\">winter<\/a> and reserves have stabilized the Russian front lines.<\/p>\n<p>However, Moscow will not win the war by defending. A large-scale offensive operation requires ammunition to support it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia has augmented its force in Ukraine with tens of thousands of reservists since October. Despite the easing of its immediate personnel shortages, a shortage of munitions highly likely remains the key limiting factor on Russian offensive operations,\u201d the British Military Intelligence\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DefenceHQ\/status\/1606543192488554498\">assessed<\/a>\u00a0in its latest estimate of the war. <\/p>\n<p>The Russian military is also relying on tens of thousands of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/12\/22\/russia-wagner-ukraine-prisoners-00075276\">Wagner Group mercenaries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>More Men, Less Ammo in Ukraine<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>For months since the start of the war, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidaxe\/2022\/12\/21\/the-russian-army-is-crowding-its-best-tanks-in-one-sector-of-eastern-ukraine\/?sh=3c25e1224407\">the Russian forces<\/a> enjoyed an advantage in numbers almost all across the board. At some point during the summer, the Russian military was lobbing more than 20,000 rounds a day at the Ukrainians.
