Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Christmas-Nativity-640x335-1.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Most believe Americans have forgotten the \u201creal meaning\u201d of Christmas, a recent Ipsos poll released ahead of the holiday found.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Three-quarters at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/en-us\/news-polls\/three-quarters-agree-most-americans-have-forgotten-the-real-meaning-of-Christmas\"><span>least somewhat agree<\/span><\/a> that Americans have forgotten the \u201creal meaning\u201d of Christmas, and of those, 42 percent \u201cstrongly\u201d agree.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">Even more Christians, 84 percent, agree that Americans have lost the true meaning of Christmas, and most Republicans and Democrats, 88 percent and 66 percent, respectively, agree as well.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Further, even non-religious Americans agree that Americans have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">Notably, the survey did not ask respondents to identify what they consider the \u201ctrue meaning\u201d of Christmas to be.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The survey was taken December 9-11, 2022 and was \u201cbased on a nationally representative probability sample of 1,023 adults,\u201d per the poll.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This coincides with a Rasmussen Reports survey which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/lifestyle\/holidays\/bah_humbug_nearly_two_thirds_say_christmas_is_too_commercialized\">found<\/a> 65 percent expressing the belief that Christmas is \u201cover-commercialized.\u201d\u00a0That is up three percent from the 62 percent who said the same last year.<\/p>\n<p>There is a consensus across the board as well, as most Republicans (70 percent), Democrats (67 percent), and independents (59 percent) believe the holiday is \u201cover-commercialized,\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The survey also found that most, 58 percent, believe stores begin the Christmas season \u201ctoo early.\u201d Once again, there is a consensus across the political spectrum as well.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The survey was taken December 6-7, 2022, among 1,000 U.S. adults and has a +\/- 3 percent margin of error.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most believe Americans have forgotten the \u201creal meaning\u201d of Christmas, a recent Ipsos poll released ahead of the holiday found.
