Hunter was nearly\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/01\/politics\/kathleen-buhle-hunter-biden-book-excerpts\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">penniless<\/a>\u00a0while Joe Biden was vice president,\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9339527\/Hunter-Biden-blew-tens-thousands-prostitutes-drugs-luxury-cars.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">living<\/a>\u00a0paycheck to paycheck after out-of-control spending, according to Hunter\u2019s ex-wife. From 2018-2019, Joe Biden even\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/hunter-biden-russian-escorts-joe-payments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">committed<\/a>\u00a0to wiring Hunter $100,000.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"ContentPasted1\">Kevin Morris, the attorney who is leading Hunter\u2019s legal proceedings, reportedly\u00a0<a class=\"ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/08\/hollywood-lawyer-kevin-morris-paid-off-over-2m-of-hunter-bidens-taxes\/\">paid<\/a>\u00a0a $2 million delinquency Hunter owed to the IRS in 2022. Hunter is awaiting the results of a Delaware grand jury\u2019s investigation into potential tax and gun violations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentPasted1\">Morris is a high-profile entertainment lawyer in Hollywood\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/05\/09\/report-hunter-biden-hires-hollywood-attorney-legal-work-financial-backing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retained<\/a>\u00a0to \u201ccraft legal and media strategy\u201d for Hunter. Morris\u2019s firm has represented stars, including Matthew McConaughey, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Saldana, and Zach Galifianakis, and, most notably, negotiated the <em>South Park<\/em> deals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">On Thursday, Morris announced attorney Abbe Lowell, who represents high-profile individuals engulfed in political scandals, such as Bill Clinton and Jared Kushner, would join fellow attorneys Chris Clark and Joshua A. Levy on Hunter\u2019s legal defense team. Lowell is slated to defend Hunter from the congressional probes, while Clark and Levy have\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/12\/12\/report-hunters-team-weighs-suing-fox-news-eric-trump-rudy-giuliani-defamation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">worked<\/a>\u00a0on preventing the DOJ from charging Hunter for tax and gun violations \u2014 an investigation that was\u00a0reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2020\/12\/10\/22167443\/hunter-biden-investigation-tax-china\">opened<\/a> in 2018.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"ContentPasted1\">Clark\u2019s professional history <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/08\/14\/liz-cheneys-husband-partner-law-firm-representing-hunter-biden-tax-issues\/\">includes<\/a> working as a partner at the same Washington, DC, law firm where Rep. Liz Cheney\u2019s husband\u00a0works. The firm\u2019s\u00a0biography of Clark says he\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lw.com\/en\/people\/chris-clark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">represents<\/a>\u00a0Hunter in the \u201cgrand jury investigation regarding tax issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s fourth attorney, Levy, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/12\/10\/hunter-biden-plans-defense\/\">hired<\/a> to combat the Republican House probe into nine potential violations,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/11\/17\/gop-house-opens-probe-biden-family-potential-tax-evasion-money-laundering-human-trafficking-violations\/\">including<\/a>\u00a0wire fraud, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, tax evasion, and money laundering. Levy\u2019s law firm touts him as the former attorney of\u00a0Liz Zentos in the Senate Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/www.levyfirestone.com\/news\/2020\/08\/lfm-partner-joshua-a-levy-represents-liz-zentos-in-senate-republican-probe-of-hunter-biden-and-ukraine\/\">probe<\/a> of Hunter\u2019s business in Ukraine. Levy also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/nation-world\/nation-politics\/nonprofits-with-ties-to-democrats-plan-counteroffensive-against-congressional-investigations\/\">represented<\/a> the opposition research firm Fusion GPS during the Russia hoax.<\/p>\n<p>The high-powered attorneys are a formidable front against congressional staffers and public servants. Critics have noted Hunter\u2019s all-star defense team and questioned how Hunter could afford expensive legal fees month after month while allegedly being strapped for cash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbbe Lowell ain\u2019t cheap. Wonder how Hunter is paying for this after blowing all of his money on drugs and pros. Must be the art gig,\u201d investigative reporter Chuck Ross <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/12\/22\/hunter-biden-hires-bill-clintons-impeachment-attorney-to-combat-gop-house-probes\/\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentPasted1\">According to attorneys with knowledge of industry compensation standards, Hunter could be paying more than $100,000 per month ($1.2 million per year) for his legal defense team. Lawyers at such a level would cost $1,000 per hour, a D.C. attorney who asked for anonymity for fear of retribution and reprisal told Breitbart News. Prepping for a single hearing could range from 6 to 40 hours, another attorney said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Florida litigator Anthony Sabatini questioned how Hunter is footing the bill for his legal expenses and suggested outside money could be flowing to\u00a0Morris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHunter has to find the money somewhere. If Morris paid Hunter\u2019s two million dollar tax bill, Morris could be at the nucleus of Hunter\u2019s legal defense funds,\u201d Sabatini told Breitbart News.\u00a0\u201cAn attorney\u2019s ethical duty is to the client and not the payer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor $100,000 per month, someone is on the hook to pay up,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Where Hunter is getting the money for his legal bills is unknown, but it\u2019s public knowledge that Hunter has maintained multiple income streams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Documents show the Biden family business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/09\/20\/13-true-facts-from-the-film-my-son-hunter\/\">collected<\/a> money from Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese business partners while Joe Biden held elected office as a senator and vice president and in the time between being vice president and president. Hunter earned tens of millions of dollars from foreign business deals for which \u201cHunter offered no real work,\u201d according to Breitbart News\u2019s senior contributor Peter Schweizer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhat we know is that the Biden family has benefited from commercial deals overseas to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. That\u2019s not in dispute. That\u2019s based on the so-called suspicious activity reports that the Treasury Department has released because a U.S. Senate committee asked for it,\u201d\u00a0Schweizer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/12\/20\/twitter-files-cites-peter-schweizer-hunter-biden-earned-millions-for-which-he-offered-no-real-work\/\">explained<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese documents show the flow of funds from Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese sources, among others. So we know there\u2019s been a flow of funds. We also know that the people sending that money have very close relationships with the government,\u201d Schweizer added.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the Biden family business ventures appear to be still active. As of July 2022, the White House has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/28\/white-house-again-refuses-to-say-if-hunter-biden-has-divested-stake-in-chinese-equity-firm\/\">refused<\/a> to say if Hunter is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/18\/hunter-biden-may-still-own-stake-chinese-oil-company-chinese-records-show\/\">divested<\/a> from his stake in a Chinese energy firm. Chinese records indicate Hunter still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/18\/hunter-biden-may-still-own-stake-chinese-oil-company-chinese-records-show\/\">holds<\/a> a ten percent stake in Skaneateles, a company Hunter helped found via the infamous entity of BHR Partners. Hunter\u2019s attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/20\/world\/hunter-biden-china-cobalt.html\">claims<\/a> he \u201cno longer holds any interest, directly or indirectly in either BHR or Skaneateles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ContentPasted1\">Hunter\u2019s alleged interest in Skaneateles comes as he has taken up the art of painting \u2014 works he is now\u00a0<a class=\"ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/12\/10\/exclusive-elise-stefanik-james-comer-pledge-probe-biden-business-hunter-spotted-selling-artwork-increased-price-200k\/\">selling<\/a>\u00a0for $100,000 through a well-connected art dealer,\u00a0Georges Berg\u00e8s. Hunter has reportedly sold at least\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/07\/report-hunter-biden-sells-five-art-75000-each-los-angeles-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">five pieces<\/a>\u00a0of art for $75,000 each. One of his reported paintings\u00a0<a class=\"ContentPasted1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/jill-biden-displays-hunter-bidens-art-taxpayer-funded-white-house-office\/\">hangs<\/a>\u00a0in first lady Jill Biden\u2019s White House office.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16821452\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/hunter-biden-artwork-screengrab.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16821452\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/hunter-biden-artwork-screengrab.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hunter Biden with his artwork (ABC News\/screenshot)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Rep. James Comer (R-KY) told Breitbart News he believes Hunter\u2019s artwork was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/11\/19\/exclusive-james-comer-95-sure-hunters-artwork-sold-to-chinese-compromising-joe-biden\/\">sold<\/a> to Chinese oligarchs \u2014 as Berg\u00e8s is allegedly well-connected in those circles. \u201cWe are 95% sure that that artwork went to China,\u201d Comer said. \u201cWe don\u2019t know where exactly that went to in China, but we\u2019re going to try to find out when we get subpoena power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith respect to China, since Joe Biden\u2019s been president, that we didn\u2019t even talk about in the press conference, was the fact that Hunter became an artist for a week, if you\u2019ll remember, and he sold some very expensive artwork,\u201d Comer added.<\/p>\n<p>The art market is known for corruption; a 2020 Senate subcommittee report\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hsgac.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/2020-07-29%20PSI%20Staff%20Report%20-%20The%20Art%20Industry%20and%20U.S.%20Policies%20that%20Undermine%20Sanctions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">detailed<\/a>\u00a0how the art market serves as a vehicle for money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Subcommittee\u2019s investigation uncovered a complex set of facts involving shell companies with hidden owners, intermediaries who mask purchasers and sellers, and lax money laundering safeguards in the U.S. art industry,\u201d the report read.\u00a0\u201cSecrecy, anonymity, and a lack of regulation create an environment ripe for laundering money and evading sanctions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Hunter has defended his art business on a podcast, saying, \u201cFuck \u2019em\u201d to his critics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">\u201cFuck \u2019em\u2026 Look, man,\u201d Hunter Biden\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kenvogel\/status\/1421099307009290247\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">said<\/a>\u00a0on the Nota Bene Podcast in 2021, \u201cI never said my art was going to cost what it was going to cost or how much it would be priced at. I would be amazed, you know, if my art was sold for, you know, for, umm, for ten dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">\u201cThe value of an artist\u2019s work is, umm, is not necessarily determined by the price. But the price is completely subjective. \u2026 It has nothing to do with anything\u00a0other than, you know, the moment.
