The NFL Network released a statement explaining that McGinest would not appear on the network while the investigation was ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>McGinest was arrested for the December 9 incident this week, after he voluntarily turned himself into the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department, on one charge of assault with a deadly weapon. It is personally devastating that decades of community service, youth engagement, mentoring, and professional development would become an afterthought in a single moment that should have never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis incident has prompted me to deep self-reflection \u2013 mind, soul, and spirit,\u201d the statement concluded. \u201cI know that violence is never the answer to such situations, no matter how intense the provocation.
