The Royal Matriarch was 96.<\/p>\n<p>Buckingham Palace announced that the Princess of Wales has also become an Honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, a title previously given to Middleton\u2019s husband Prince William ten years ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/uk\/kate-buckingham-palace-prince-of-wales-princess-of-wales-horse-guards-parade-b1048857.html\">the Evening Standard<\/a> reported. The title Princess of Wales was an honor previously held by the late-Princess Diana.<\/p>\n<p>William\u2019s title has also been extended to now include Colonel of the Welsh Guards \u2014 an honor previously held by Prince Charles before he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/buckingham-palace-releases-first-statement-from-his-majesty-the-king\">became King<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 following the queen\u2019s death in September, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1359200\/king-charles-iii-gives-kate-middleton-a-new-title?cmpid=social_instagram_bio%26source%3Dinstagram-enews%26medium%3Dlink-post\">E! News<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>King Charle\u2019s wife, Queen Consort Camilla\u2019s title has also been extended to include Colonel of the Grenadier Guards \u2014 an honor previously held by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/prince-andrew\">Prince Andrew<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 which was vacated in January when the late queen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/queen-strips-prince-andrew-of-his-military-titles-and-use-of-his-royal-highness\">stripped him of royal titles<\/a>\u00a0over ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>Other news announced from the royal household included that King Charles III\u2019s birthday celebration, known as Trooping the Colour, will be held on June 17, 2023. The royal\u2019s birthday celebration will come after the king\u2019s coronation which is set to take place May 6, the Evening Standard noted.<\/p>\n<p>During the king\u2019s first official address as monarch, he thanked everyone for their love and devotion to his family, after his mother\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want simply to say this: Thank you,\u201d the royal shared in a pre-recorded message. \u201cThank you for your love, and devotion to our family, and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.
