Ron DeSantis to impanel a grand jury with the intent to investigate mRNA vaccine manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis announced earlier this month he is petitioning the state\u2019s highest court to impanel a grand jury to investigate any wrongdoing related to COVID vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is against the law to mislead and to misrepresent, particularly when you\u2019re talking about the efficacy of a drug,\u201d DeSantis told local media.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Gov. Ron DeSantis on plan to investigate potential mRNA COVID-19 vaccine wrongdoing: &#8220;It is against the law to mislead and to misrepresent, particularly when you&#8217;re talking about the efficacy of a drug.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/39ITxvMStj\">pic.twitter.com\/39ITxvMStj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Florida\u2019s Voice (@FLVoiceNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FLVoiceNews\/status\/1602705485630787586?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 13, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/flvoicenews.com\/desantis-grand-jury-impaneled-to-investigate-mrna-vaccine-manufacturers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local media<\/a>, groups involved in the design, development, clinical testing, marketing, and distribution of such vaccines are subject to a statewide impaneled grand jury investigation for one year.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis\u2019 petition said widespread belief was that the COVID-19 vaccine would prevent the disease from spreading, which led to mandates on\u00a0citizens, health care workers, and military members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is impossible to imagine that so many influential individuals came to this view on their own. Rather, it is likely that individuals and companies with an incentive to do so created these perceptions for financial gain,\u201d the petition said, according to local media.<\/p>\n<p>Moderna and Pfizer\u2019s argued the vaccine prevented COVID from spreading with \u201c94.1% efficacy\u201d and \u201c91.3% vaccine efficacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire reached out to Pfizer and Moderna for a response to DeSantis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegulatory agencies across the world have authorized the use of our COVID-19 vaccine,\u201d a Pfizer spokesperson said in a statement. \u201cThese authorizations are based on robust and independent evaluation of the scientific data on quality, safety and efficacy, including our landmark phase 3 clinical trial. Data from real world studies complement the clinical trial data and provide additional evidence that the vaccine provides effective protection against severe disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pfizer representative added: \u201cOver the course of this deadly pandemic, mRNA vaccines have saved hundreds of thousands of lives, tens of billions of dollars in health care costs, and enabled people worldwide to go about their lives more freely. As of November 27th, 2022, we have delivered 4.3 billion vaccines to 181 countries and territories in every region of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor made the announcement alongside Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, and other health officials at an event focused on \u201caccountability\u201d for the COVID mRNA shots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat will come with legal processes that we\u2019ll be able to get more information and to bring legal accountability for those who committed misconduct,\u201d DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns for such misconduct spurred from studies that showed a link in an increase of myocarditis, which is an inflammation of the heart muscle, in teenagers and young adults after receiving the mRNA vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>Myocarditis after mRNA COVID vaccination is \u201crare yet potentially serious,\u201d according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lanchi\/article\/PIIS2352-4642(22)00244-9\/fulltext#:~:text=After%20at%20least%2090%20days,populations%20of%20a%20similar%20age.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Lancet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Daniel Chaitin contributed to this report.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Florida Supreme Court approved a request from Gov.
