The report notes that when the 19th Precinct officers caught up with her \u2014 on the second floor of De Niro\u2019s $69,000-per-month rental home \u2014 she was attempting to do something with the actor\u2019s iPad and the presents under his Christmas tree.<\/p>\n<p>Aviles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/crime\/watch-suspect-declares-she-didnt-murder-anybody-after-police-arrest-her-for-breaking-into-robert-de-niro-nyc-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protested her innocence<\/a> when authorities picked her up, insisting, \u201cI didn\u2019t murder anybody!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Police caught a serial burglar stealing Christmas presents from inside Robert De Niro\u2019s townhome in Manhattan early Monday morning, according to police sources. Shanice Aviles, 30, was arrested on burglary charges. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lzzLy4qpVV\">pic.twitter.com\/lzzLy4qpVV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PIX11 News (@PIX11News) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PIX11News\/status\/1604991762920939520?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 20, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She also suggested that her arrival in DeNiro\u2019s house was purely coincidental, telling spectators, \u201cI didn\u2019t go into Robert De Niro\u2019s house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aviles\u2019 arrest at De Niro\u2019s home follows at least 16 other arrests this year alone \u2014 and is added to a lengthy rap sheet that includes at least 26 total arrests, the latest of which took place just a week prior to her arrival in De Niro\u2019s townhouse.<\/p>\n<p>She was arraigned on two burglaries that took place in Queens in October \u2014 she allegedly ransacked an apartment on October 1, stealing a debit card and using it to charge $50 at a nearby 7-11; and she also allegedly lifted $1000 in cash from St. Patrick\u2019s Church in Dutch Kills just three weeks later. She was released without bail after her arraignment on those charges.<\/p>\n<p>Her arraignment for the attempted burglary in the actor\u2019s home <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/12\/20\/accused-de-niro-burglar-shanice-aviles-ordered-held-on-40k-bail\/?utm_medium=SocialFlow&#038;utm_source=NYPTwitter&#038;utm_campaign=SocialFlow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went a bit differently<\/a>, however, and Aviles is currently being held on $40,000 bail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has repeatedly failed to take advantage of the rehabilitative services that enable her to detox and stay out of trouble and appear [for] court dates. The defendant demonstrated that she will not engage with services.
