Bridges is reportedly Roland\u2019s boyfriend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on initial findings, it\u2019s believed the boy died from injuries sustained in the home, possibly three months ago,\u201d police said. \u201cThe state medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Roland also had a 6-year-old daughter with what appeared to be burns on her scalp. The girl has been removed from the home and is being treated at a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital, where she is in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Police responded to the home on December 16 around 10:46 p.m. after being told the 6-year-old boy had been discovered dead underneath the floorboards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very [disheartening] that I have a house, just two houses over, and had no idea that there was a deceased child that close \u2026 I hope they\u2019re punished to the fullest,\u201d the couple\u2019s neighbor, Machelle Calloway, <a href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/news\/local\/childs-body-found-buried-in-lee-county-home\/\">told WREG Memphis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Anita Widby, who says she is a friend of the children\u2019s grandmother Karen, set up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/azbr76-burial-for-child?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&#038;utm_content=undefined&#038;utm_medium=copy_link_all&#038;utm_source=customer&#038;utm_term=undefined\">a GoFundMe page<\/a> and wrote that Karen \u201chas been trying to get custody of her grandchild for over a year\u201d and has gone \u201cthrough the proper channels\u201d even paying \u201ca ridiculous amount of money\u201d to finally obtain a court order allowing her to see her grandchildren every weekend. Widby wrote that when Karen went to the house on Friday, she was told the youngest child was at a friend\u2019s house and the oldest \u201ccouldn\u2019t walk.\u201d Widby added that Karen took the child to the hospital for her injuries, saying the \u201cchild\u2019s hair had been chopped off, she is malnourished, cracked ribs, and many many burns on her body in various stages of healing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Widby said Karen was later notified that the other grandchild\u2019s decomposing body had been found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese children have endured so much pain, neglect, and death,\u201d Widby wrote. \u201cI desperately want to help lessen the financial burden that the burial for the youngest and items needed for the oldest will present. They have so much healing to do and I want us to come together and remove one burden from Karen\u2019s plate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The page has so far raised nearly $20,000 of the $100,000 goal.<\/p>\n<p>Arkansas State Police said the investigation into the crime is still ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 6-year-old boy was found dead beneath the floorboards of a Moro, Arkansas, home on Friday, and a man and woman have been arrested in connection with the crime.
