Meanwhile, her love interest Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) freezes to death in the icy sea. Fans have speculated for decades whether Jack could have fit on the door with Rose and potentially have survived the disaster.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 47-year-old actress said that the matter came down to the door\u2019s buoyancy, not its size.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t f***ing know. That\u2019s the answer. I don\u2019t f***ing know,\u201d Winslet said during a recent Happy Sad Confused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cT9s_EeqkJ0\">podcast<\/a> episode. \u201cLook, all I can tell you is, I do have a decent understanding of water and how it behaves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you put two adults on a stand-up paddleboard, it becomes immediately, extremely unstable. That is for sure,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, she revealed her personal opinion on the controversy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to be honest: I actually don\u2019t believe that we would have survived if we had both gotten on that door,\u201d Winslet declared. \u201cI think he would have fit, but it would have tipped and it would not have been a sustainable idea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, you heard it here for the first time,\u201d she concluded. \u201cYes, he could have fit on that door, but it would not have stayed afloat. It wouldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Movie director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/james-cameron\">James Cameron<\/a> had similar thoughts when previously asked about the controversy. He told <a href=\"https:\/\/torontosun.com\/entertainment\/movies\/james-cameron-plans-to-prove-that-jack-couldnt-have-lived-in-titanic\">The Toronto Sun<\/a> that the idea of both Jack and Rose fitting on the raft had already been tested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and drive a stake through its heart once and for all,\u201d Cameron told the publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have since done a thorough forensic analysis with a hypothermia expert who reproduced the raft from the movie,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe took two stunt people who were the same body mass of Kate and Leo and we put sensors all over them and inside them and we put them in ice water. We tested to see whether they could have survived through a variety of methods and the answer was, there was no way they both could have survived. Only one could survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron also said he has no regrets about Jack dying. \u201cNo, he needed to die,\u201d the filmmaker confirmed. \u201cIt\u2019s like Romeo and Juliet. It\u2019s a movie about love and sacrifice and mortality.
