says Porter, who explains that the MIND diet consists of 15 dietary components, including green leafy vegetables, berries, beans, and whole grains. &#8220;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/bestlifeonline.com\/ultra-processed-foods-dementia-risk-news\/\" target=\"_blank\">Better eating habits<\/a> may help by reducing inflammation in the brain, which in turn helps to protect the brain,&#8221; she explains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The MIND (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) diet aims to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/mind-diet\" target=\"_blank\">reduce dementia<\/a> and the decline in brain health that often occurs as people get older,&#8221; of diseases that cause dementia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is also important to adequately treat <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/bestlifeonline.com\/sleep-apnea-heart-failure-link-news\/\" target=\"_blank\">obstructive sleep apnea<\/a> (OSA) since incompletely treated, or insufficiently treated, OSA may increase the risk for cerebrovascular and\/or cardiovascular diseases as well as the risk of developing dementia,&#8221;
