In an appearance on CBS&#8217;s <i>Face the Nation<\/i>, moderator Margaret Brennan asked Manchin if he would follow Sinema&#8217;s lead. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/videos\/the-debrief-david-mark-on-the-implications-of-kyrsten-sinema-becoming-an-independent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">THE DEBRIEF: DAVID MARK ON THE IMPLICATIONS OF KYRSTEN SINEMA BECOMING AN INDEPENDENT<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf people are trying to stop something from doing so much good because of politics, thinking somebody else will get credit for it, let\u2019s see how that plays out. And then I\u2019ll let you know later what I decide to do,\u201d Manchin said. <\/p>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Do you see an advantage in this environment to becoming unaffiliated, to becoming an independent?&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/margbrennan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@margbrennan<\/a> asks Democratic Sen. I don\u2019t think the Republicans are always wrong.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>His latest statement <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/manchin-leaves-door-open-becoming-independent\">echoes<\/a> that of last week, when he said he has no intentions of leaving the party but wouldn&#8217;t rule it out.
