James Comer, R-Kentucky, similarly blasted the FBI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/twitter-files-part-6-reveals-fbis-ties-tech-giant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>TWITTER FILES PART 6 REVEALS FBI&#8217;S TIES TO TECH GIANT: &#8216;AS IF IT WERE A SUBSIDIARY&#8217;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone that cares about free speech should be outraged,&#8221; Comer said. &#8220;Whether you\u2019re a Republican or a Democrat, this has to stop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The GOP House Judiciary Committee account, which is managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/jim-jordan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio,<\/a> added: &#8220;Does anyone still trust the FBI?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Missouri, speculated the FBI\u2019s alleged interactions with Twitter could suggest they were working with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/tech\/companies\/google\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google and Facebook<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p>Taibbi began the thread on Friday sharing screenshots of emails between former Twitter Trust and Safety Chief Yoel Roth and members of the FBI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/bari-weiss-claps-back-critics-saying-twitter-files-cherry-picks-reporting-twitter-misled-public\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>BARI WEISS CLAPS BACK AT CRITICS SAYING TWITTER FILES \u2018CHERRY-PICKS\u2019 REPORTING: \u2018TWITTER MISLED THE PUBLIC\u2019<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The #TwitterFiles are revealing more every day about how the government collects, analyzes, and flags your social media content. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, left, and Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., in the Rayburn Building on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.\u00a0<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Tom Williams\/CQ Roll Call)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Taibbi highlighted the FBI&#8217;s own social media task force, which was established after the 2016 presidential election, assigned as many as &#8220;80 agents&#8221; to monitor social media activity in an effort to locate potential election interference.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist shared an email from November 5, 2022, from the FBI\u2019s National Election Command Post to the agency&#8217;s field office in San Francisco, where Twitter Headquarters is located, with a lengthy list of Twitter accounts that &#8220;may warrant additional action&#8221; as the accounts were &#8220;being utilized to spread misinformation about the upcoming election.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/640\/320\/GettyImages-1244299826.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Federal Bureau Of Investigation emblem is seen on the headquarters building in Washington D.C., United States, on October 20, 2022.\u00a0\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p>\n      Federal Bureau Of Investigation emblem is seen on the headquarters building in Washington D.C., United States, on October 20, 2022.\u00a0<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Beata Zawrzel\/NurPhoto via Getty Images)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Another email on Nov. 6, shows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/tech\/topics\/fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI Agent Elvis Chan<\/a> forwarded the list to &#8220;Twitter folks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cnns-twitter-files-coverage-involving-hunter-biden-laptop-story-glaring-omissions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CNN&#8217;S \u2018TWITTER FILES\u2019 COVERAGE INVOLVING HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY HAS GLARING OMISSIONS<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Taibbi also shared a Nov. 10 email sent to &#8220;Twitter contacts&#8221; from an FBI official listing multiple Twitter accounts that &#8220;may potentially constitute violations of Twitter&#8217;s Terms of Service.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the accounts included tweets that were posted as jokes, Taibbi highlighted, but they were apparently banned.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the &#8220;Twitter Files,&#8221; a spokesperson for the FBI told Fox News Digital, their communication was part of an effort to ensure national security but that the FBI only offered the information to Twitter and allowed the private company to make its own decisions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The FBI regularly engages with private sector entities to provide information specific to identified foreign malign influence actors\u2019 subversive, undeclared, covert, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminal activities,&#8221;<\/a> the spokesperson wrote. &#8220;Private sector entities independently make decisions about what, if any, action they take on their platforms and for their customers after the FBI has notified them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>House Republicans will get an opportunity to further question the FBI and intelligence officials, as well as others, when they are sworn in as the majority in January 2023.
