And I thought, \u2018Well, if you\u2019re really going to go all the way down the rabbit hole of female empowerment, let\u2019s have a female warrior who\u2019s six months pregnant in battle.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t happen in our society \u2014 probably hasn\u2019t happened for hundreds of years,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut I guarantee you, back in the day, women had to fight for survival and protect their children, and it didn\u2019t matter if they were pregnant. And pregnant women are more capable of being a lot more athletic than we, as a culture, acknowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought, \u2018Let\u2019s take the real boundaries off,&#8217;\u201d he concluded. \u201cTo me, it was the last bastion that you don\u2019t see. Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel \u2014 all these other amazing women come up, but they\u2019re not moms and they\u2019re not pregnant while they\u2019re fighting evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron said during an interview late last month about the movie that testosterone was a \u201ctoxin\u201d that men should work out of their systems.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron made the remarks during an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/james-cameron-interview-avatar-the-way-of-water-franchise-future-1235271483\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with The Hollywood Reporter.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron, 68, said that he has changed as he has gotten older as his \u201cF-bomb-laden shouting matches with executives is behind him,\u201d the publication said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of things I did earlier, I wouldn\u2019t do \u2014 career-wise and just risks that you take as a wild, testosterone-poisoned young man,\u201d he said. \u201cI always think of [testosterone] as a toxin that you have to slowly work out of your system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"170\"><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/kate-winslet-thought-she-died-after-holding-breath-for-over-7-minutes-during-avatar-filming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kate Winslet Thought She \u2018Died\u2019 After Holding Breath For Over 7 Minutes During \u2018Avatar\u2019 Filming<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Director James Cameron said in a recent interview that his upcoming movie, \u201cAvatar: The Way of Water,\u201d is the most empowering movie for women because one of the characters is a pregnant warrior.
