Gen. Patrick Ryder, a Pentagon spokesman, said that the pilot was a \u201cU.S. government pilot,\u201d but did not specify if the pilot was U.S. Military or civilian personnel as Lockheed Martin\u2019s final assembly plant for the F-35 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/pilot-ejects-from-f-35-at-fort-worth-joint-reserve-base\/3149776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shares<\/a>\u00a0a runway with the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pentagon-halts-f-35-purchases-after-discovery-of-chinese-component\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paused<\/a> shipments back in September of F-35s to the U.S. military and other buyers after discovering that an engine component in the jet is sourced from China.<\/p>\n<p>The Defense Contract Management Agency notified the Pentagon\u2019s office handling F-35s that an alloy used in the plane\u2019s turbomachine pumps comes from China. Lockheed Martin, which assembles the aircraft, may need a special exemption to bypass the Buy American Act if it wishes to restart production, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/09\/07\/pentagon-suspends-f-35-deliveries-china-00055202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to Politico.<\/p>\n<p>The alloy is present in magnets inside the turbomachine pumps.
