Trump NFT collection right here and right now; they\u2019re called Trump Digital Trading Cards,\u201d Trump said in a promotional video. \u201cHere\u2019s one of the best parts: Each card comes with an automatic chance to win amazing prizes like dinner with me. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s an amazing prize, but it\u2019s what we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump said that if you buy one of his digital trading cards, you will \u201cjoin a very exclusive community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The problem with NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which are pieces of digital art that are supposed to be unique, is that NFTs have collapsed in value in recent months in large part due to cryptocurrencies taking a massive hit over the last year, a trend that has been accelerated by the collapse of FTX.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding those problems were the designs of Trump\u2019s digital cards, which many of his own supporters criticized. His supporters, and others, also criticized the overall decision to launch the initiative.<\/p>\n<p><em>The following are some notable responses from conservatives:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesse Kelly<\/strong>, radio host: \u201cTrump teasing a \u2018major announcement\u2019 and then labeling his NFT \u2018major announcement\u2019 only to have his hardcore fans act like that wasn\u2019t the real announcement is the perfect example what this thing has become. Demand improvement. Put the pom poms down. We need a better Trump.\u201d<strong>John Cardillo<\/strong>, political commentator: \u201cI supported Trump for years but this is ridiculous. Pushing a worthless NFT for $99 a week before Christmas on the heels of the #FTX collapse is beyond wrong. Calling it a \u2018MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT\u2019 is just weird. Who advised him to do this?\u201d<strong>Luke Rudkowski<\/strong>, political commentator: \u201cHey guys, are you dealing with real life problems like the crashing of the economy the fear of nuclear war the destruction of our mental &#038; physical health that has been deteriorating b\/c of direct government intervention. People are struggling and losing their country. They\u2019re begging for real action \u2013 not childish stunts like this.\u201d<strong>Steve Deace<\/strong>, podcast host: \u201cDeSantis out here launching grand juries, while Trump be out here selling trading cards. Come on, man.\u201d<strong>Bryson Gray<\/strong>, political commentator: \u201cTrump\u2019s major announcement was about digital trading cards. Can we be honest about that being a let down?\u201d<strong>John Nolte<\/strong>, Breitbart columnist: \u201cAnyone dumb enough to buy \u201c\u201d\u201d\u201ddigital\u201d\u201d\u201d trading cards should probably wear a helmet and never procreate.\u201d<strong>Hodgetwins<\/strong>, political commentators: \u201cMan\u2026when all Patriots are looking for is hope for the future of our country and Trump hypes everybody up with a \u2018BIG ANNOUNCEMENT\u2019.
