In 2021, the countries\u2019 bilateral trade totaled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/2213231\/business-economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$87.3 billion<\/a>, with \u201cChinese exports to the Kingdom reaching $30.3 billion and China\u2019s imports from Saudi Arabia totaling $57 billion.\u201d Government officials from each nation also regularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/1877436\/saudi-arabia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">partake<\/a> in joint \u201cbusiness council\u201d forums to find ways to boost economic relations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou name it, we are doing it with China,\u201d a Saudi government adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/saudi-arabia-china-crown-prince-mohammed-bin-salman-energy-prices-climate-xi-biden-iran-11636493333\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> The Wall Street Journal last year. \u201cChina is a strategic partner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Growing Sino-Saudi relations represent an alarming trend of growing Chinese influence in the Middle East.
