News outlets reported what was said in audio, covering the moments when police officers arrived at the home and witnessed DePape and 82-year-old Paul Pelosi struggling over a hammer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood morning, what\u2019s going on man?\u201d an officer asks, to which DePape responds, \u201cEverything\u2019s good.\u201d The officer then says, \u201cDrop the hammer!\u201d and DePape says, \u201cUh, nope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sounds of a struggle ensue. San Francisco Police Officer Kyle Cagney, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/paul-pelosi-hammer-attack-suspect-david-depape-hearing-body-camera-video-911-call-played-judge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who had taken the stand<\/a>, said that is when he and his partner tackled DePape and Paul Pelosi fell facedown to the ground, unconscious and in a pool of blood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBackup code 3! Give me your f***ing hands! Give me your f***ing hands!\u201d an officer in the audio says before the video ends.<\/p>\n<p>DePape allegedly broke into the Pelosi home and confronted Paul Pelosi while he was sleeping. He allegedly asked, \u201cWhere is Nancy?\u201d and told Paul Pelosi he would break \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/paul-pelosi-attack-suspect-wanted-to-hold-speaker-hostage-break-her-kneecaps-police-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">her kneecaps<\/a>\u201d if the speaker did not tell him the \u201ctruth,\u201d but let her go if she did. At one point, Paul Pelosi was able to make a call to 911, which led to the visit by police.<\/p>\n<p>DePape told authorities he was on a \u201csuicide mission\u201d seeking out other politicians, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/california-san-francisco-nancy-pelosi-government-and-politics-paul-985a574966438975ec9ccdc39061d83c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to court documents<\/a>. His friends <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2022-11-14\/david-depape-suspect-pelosi-attack-mental-illness-drug-abuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">say he has a history<\/a> of drug abuse, mental illness, and believing conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n<p>DePape, who remains held without bail, was wearing an orange jumpsuit at the hearing Wednesday. The preliminary hearing, during which prosecutors also presented the hammer allegedly used in the attack and played audio of the 911 call, set the stage for the judge to decide whether there is enough evidence to put DePape on trial.<\/p>\n<p>At the hearing, San Francisco Police Department Lt. Carla Hurley testified that DePape disclosed that he also planned to kidnap President Joe Biden\u2019s son, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/collections\/the-hunter-biden-files\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden<\/a>, to talk about \u201call the corruption\u201d in Washington, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), actor Tom Hanks, and feminist author Gale Breen.<\/p>\n<p>After the attack, Paul Pelosi was sent to a hospital to receive treatment for a skull fracture and injuries to his right arm and hands, according to a spokesperson for his wife.
