FALLON\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 1:35 PM PT \u2013 Friday, February 26, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>A Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s motorcycle deputy was killed after a <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/sheriffs-deputy-killed-motorcycle-motor-officer-lakewood\/10370186\/\">traffic collision.<\/a> On Thursday, Deputy Thomas Albanese was fatally struck by a car in what investigators believe was likely an accident.<\/p>\n<p>According to officials, Albanese was in the middle of a traffic stop when he was hit by a car driving through the same intersection. The opposing driver, whose name has not been disclosed, appeared to have the green light and was treated for minor injuries at the scene.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CLubWQ5nkfO\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"13\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Albanese had been with the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department for nearly eight years. He was reportedly killed instantly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will be missed,\u201d Sheriff Alex Villanueva said. \u201cHe endured and survived four tours in Iraq as a 10 year veteran of the Marine Corps.
