There are a lot of people who are like, \u2018Where do you go?\u2019 You can\u2019t talk to a therapist. You can only really talk to someone who\u2019s going through it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that despite being \u201cin shape and taking care of myself,\u201d it\u2019s \u201csomething where either you\u2019re either lucky or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/top-professor-warns-plummeting-sperm-counts-are-accelerating-across-the-globe\/\">Top Professor Warns Plummeting Sperm Counts Are \u2018Accelerating\u2019 across the Glob<\/a>e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope there\u2019s one person who reads this and is like, \u2018f***, I need to get checked out\u2019 when they find out about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Since the band member\u2019s diagnosis, he said he\u2019d kept a positive attitude but admitted it was challenging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever it is, it makes me wonder if it\u2019s happening because I have cancer, and prostate cancer is a very, very, very tough one because it\u2019s connected to your sexuality,\u201d the rocker shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to disconnect from that, and when you\u2019re forced into that situation, it\u2019s a brutal psychological journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been trying to find support groups, and it\u2019s hard to find people and hard to talk about it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suffering part of it, the physical suffering after the surgery, I\u2019ve never felt pain quite like that. I have metal plates in my head and cadaver parts in my body,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve done a lot of damage through sports and mountain biking and this sort of thing and I\u2019ve always felt like I had a really high tolerance for pain, and that s*** brought me to my knees,\u201d Commerford added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the pain went away, I still haven\u2019t really been able to get up, even though I\u2019m working out and doing s***, but psychologically, the damage is severe,\u201d Commerford continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very hard for me to not break down and get emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rage Against the Machine\u2019s bassist, Tim Commerford, has revealed he was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to an interview with Spin magazine.
