to discuss the FDA ordering the electronic cigarette company Juul to pull its product from the U.S. market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/juul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juul Lab<\/a>s will pay $1.2 billion to settle roughly 10,000 lawsuits claiming the e-cigarette maker is a major contributor to the youth-vaping epidemic in the U.S., according to report by Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>The pre-trial settlement was announced Tuesday and aims to resolve all personal-injury, class-action and school-district claims against Juul gathered before a federal judge in San Francisco, the report continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These settlements represent a major step toward strengthening Juul Labs\u2019 operations and securing the company\u2019s path forward to fulfill its mission to transition adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes while combating underage use,&#8221; JUUL said in a statement released Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline image-ct\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxbusiness.com\/foxbusiness.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/931\/523\/FDA-Bans-Juul-2.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Juul electric cigarette is used in Indonesia\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p><span>Shopkeeper demonstrates smoking a Juul brand vaping pen to customers at a Juul shop in Jakarta, Indonesia, Dec. 30, 2019.<\/span><span> (Reutere\/Ajeng Dinar Ulfiana\/File Photo \/ Reuters Photos)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/markets\/juul-settles-5000-vaping-lawsuits-settlement-not-disclosed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>JUUL SETTLES OVER 5,000 VAPING LAWSUITS, SETTLEMENT NOT DISCLOSED<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, Juul Labs also settled with 37 states and territories, while continuing in ongoing discussions with stakeholders to resolve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/legal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remaining litigation<\/a>, according to the announcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The case is being handled at the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California (San Francisco).<\/p>\n<p>Last month, JUUL secured an investment of undisclosed size from some of its early investors that will keep the e-cigarette maker in business, the company said, adding that it will also undertake job cuts as part of a reorganization.<\/p>\n<p>JUUL said the investment would help run business operations, while it goes ahead with its administrative appeal of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration&#8217;s marketing denial order related to its e-cigarettes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/apps-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX BUSINESS APP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Juul&#8217;s e-cigarettes were briefly banned in the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/healthcare\/fda-order-juul-e-cigarettes-off-us-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in late June<\/a> after the FDA concluded that the company had failed to show that the sale of its products would be appropriate for public health.
