Because the administration is not being helpful and not trying to increase supply, and it\u2019s hurting consumers and they just don\u2019t seem to care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden has emphasized green energy while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-administration-severely-cuts-back-on-oil-and-gas-leases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leasing less federal land<\/a> for oil and gas drilling than any administration since the end of World War II. Soon after his inauguration, Biden also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/keystone-pipeline-dead-killed-by-biden-thousands-of-jobs-lost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discontinued<\/a> expansions to the Keystone XL pipeline project. The administration began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-to-release-more-oil-from-strategic-reserve-ahead-of-midterms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">releasing<\/a> 180 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, a stock of emergency crude oil created to manage supply disruptions in energy markets, earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden has canceled the offshore lease auctions,\u201d Eberhart added. \u201cHe stopped fracking on federal land and the permitting process, which is really what\u2019s important, not the leases, the permits are coming out of the administration much slower than they were out of the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have contended that windfall profits in the fossil fuel sector are attributable to corporate price gouging rather than supply constraints. Some lawmakers in the state of California are attempting to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-moves-to-limit-oil-company-profits-in-energy-strapped-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">introduce<\/a> a price gouging penalty; member states of the European Union are likewise preparing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/european-union-social-market-economy-might-redistribute-fossil-fuel-profits\">tax<\/a> surplus oil and gas revenues.<\/p>\n<p>Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry remarked during a Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/washington-post-live\/2022\/12\/08\/this-is-climate-us-climate-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> with The Washington Post that the energy transition is not occurring \u201cfast enough,\u201d claiming that policymakers can no longer \u201crun around and do one bespoke deal here, another bespoke deal there.\u201d Eberhart called the sentiment tone-deaf, particularly given current recessionary risks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think what he said is preposterous,\u201d he reacted. \u201cI\u2019d like to see economic growth six times faster, and I\u2019d like to see construction projects happen 20 times faster. But, look, there\u2019s a difference between politicians and business, and business can only produce so much. And we\u2019ve got to move incrementally. We\u2019ve got to get done what we can get done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House has also been the subject of criticism for soliciting higher oil output abroad while suppressing production domestically. The government of Saudi Arabia revealed the commander-in-chief requested that OPEC refrain from cutting oil production until after the midterm elections. More recently, he began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-to-ease-sanctions-on-socialist-venezuela-releases-maduros-convicted-narco-trafficker-nephews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">easing sanctions<\/a> on Venezuela so that Chevron, an American oil company, could resume production in the socialist nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government should really focus on helping America and helping America\u2019s national security position and helping American consumers,\u201d Eberhart said. \u201cThe Biden administration, they\u2019re not looking to Texas and North Dakota for more oil. They\u2019re looking to Venezuela, they\u2019re looking to Saudi Arabia. I think it\u2019s absolutely ridiculous being in the oil industry.
