Lists were also built to limit the visibility of accounts or tweets Twitter employees deemed unfavorable.<\/p>\n<p>Among the most notable accounts targeted by the platform were prominent conservative figures such as Dan Bongino and Charlie Kirk, with the former\u2019s profile being <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss\/status\/1601012181138407425?s=20&amp;t=pIvf_sCDHN19NO8jCHeRWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">placed<\/a> on a \u201cSearch Blacklist\u201d and the latter\u2019s being <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss\/status\/1601012976894373888?s=20&amp;t=pIvf_sCDHN19NO8jCHeRWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">switched<\/a> to a setting called \u201cDo Not Amplify.\u201d Medical professionals were also censored, with Twitter putting the account of Stanford University\u2019s Jay Bhattacharya, one of the authors of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/gbdeclaration.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Great Barrington Declaration<\/a>,\u201d on a \u201cTrends Blacklist,\u201d which \u201cprevented his tweets from trending.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">3. And we control the amplification of your content quite a bit. And normal people do not know how much we do,\u201d a Twitter engineer separately revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Federalist CEO and co-founder Sean Davis has also been among those censored, with his Twitter account having been shadowbanned since January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday night\u2019s revelations show former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to be a complete liar about the company\u2019s censorship practices. When <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RubinReport\/status\/1601015872331468801?s=20&amp;t=XmsCYnC0FLEu2pKGQmXIqg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asked<\/a> in a post by political commentator Dave Rubin in October 2020 if Twitter shadowbans \u201cbased on political beliefs,\u201d Dorsey responded with a straightforward, \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company also put out a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/en_us\/topics\/company\/2018\/Setting-the-record-straight-on-shadow-banning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blog post<\/a> in July 2018, in which it claimed Twitter doesn\u2019t shadowban \u201cbased on political viewpoints or ideology\u201d and said users \u201care always able to see the tweets from accounts [they] follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the group known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss\/status\/1601016446930124800?s=20&amp;t=pIvf_sCDHN19NO8jCHeRWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Strategic Response Team \u2013 Global Escalation Team<\/a> made everyday decisions about censorship of certain users and posts, it was a secret cabal of high-level Twitter executives called the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss\/status\/1601017524996304896?s=20&amp;t=pIvf_sCDHN19NO8jCHeRWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Site Integrity Policy, Policy Escalation Support (SIP-PES)<\/a> who made \u201cthe biggest, most politically sensitive decisions\u201d regarding shadowbanning. According to Weiss, SIP-PES was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss\/status\/1601017754324062208?s=20&amp;t=pIvf_sCDHN19NO8jCHeRWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">comprised<\/a> of former CEOs Dorsey and Parag Agrawal; the former head of legal, policy, and trust Vijaya Gadde; and the global head of trust and safety Yoel Roth, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Included in the list of accounts targeted by the group was \u201cLibs of TikTok,\u201d a profile dedicated to reposting TikTok videos of crazed leftist educators.
