As a woman of conscience and faith, I cannot concede that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abrams went on to start a national organization against \u201cvoter suppression\u201d in 2019 and never conceded that she fairly lost the Georgia governor\u2019s race. Weeks after the loss, Abrams went on MSNBC to complain about \u201clong lines\u201d and \u201cunder-resourced\u201d polling stations that suppressed the vote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was not a free and fair election,\u201d Abrams <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/12-times-stacey-abrams-said-she-got-cheated-in-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, carving out her legacy as the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/05\/time-magazine-admits-election-denier-is-a-nonsense-phrase-invented-to-smear-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OG election denier<\/a>. \u201cIt was not fair to the thousands who were forced to wait in long lines because they were in polling places that were under-resourced, or worse, they had no polling places to go to because more than 300 had been closed.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>If Abrams and her group, \u201cFair Fight,\u201d actually cared about voter suppression, however, they would be filing lawsuits in Arizona. <\/p>\n<p>Federalist Staff Writer Shawn Fleetwood has been chronicling the issues that plagued the November election run by Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who also happened to be at the top of the ballot this cycle as the Democrats\u2019 candidate for governor. In Maricopa County, home to nearly 62 percent of the state population, hours-long lines and broken machines turned away many same-day voters, who typically favor Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter its close and contentious 2020 election, Maricopa County officials refused to cooperate with an audit of the election by state senators and dismissed concerns about how it conducts elections,\u201d Fleetwood <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/23\/maricopa-county-made-arizonas-elections-even-more-of-a-disaster-than-people-realize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. This year, it took poll workers nearly two weeks to finish counting ballots, with election workers reporting issues with the equipment. \u201cPrinters with misconfigured settings in at least 70 of Maricopa\u2019s 223 voting locations printed ballots that were rejected by many of the center\u2019s vote tabulator machines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azag.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-11\/221119%20Letter%20to%20Maricopa%20County%20re%202022%20General%20Election%20Administration.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According <\/a>to the Arizona attorney general\u2019s office nearly two weeks after Election Day, voters who were having issues at their original vote center were told at their second destination that the state system showed they had already cast ballots. <\/p>\n<p>Hobbs ultimately won the governor\u2019s contest over Republican Kari Lake, an ex-television anchor, by just more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2022-election\/results\/arizona\/statewide-offices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">17,000 votes<\/a> out of more than 2.5 million cast. The results were certified on Monday over Republican objections.
