What I meant to emphasize was how good it feels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I meant that with Viola [Davis]\u2014 to blow past these old myths that you hear about \u2026 about the chatter that you would hear around that kind of thing,\u201d she added. \u201cBut it was my blunder and it came out wrong. I had nerves talking to a living legend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>During a <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/features\/jennifer-lawrence-viola-davis-action-heroes-motherhood-1235451405\/\">Variety<\/a>\u00a0\u201cActors on Actors\u201d interview, Lawrence told Davis, \u201cI remember when I was doing \u2018Hunger Games,\u2019 nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn\u2019t work \u2014 because we were told girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davis, did not push back against the claim, as the actress went on to say that it makes her so happy \u201cevery single time I see a movie come out that just blows through every one of those beliefs, and proves that it is just a lie to keep certain people out of the movies. To keep certain people in the same positions that they\u2019ve always been in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twitter users slammed the actress, noting all the famous female stars who had landed lead action roles for decades before Lawrence did, citing Sigourney Weaver in 1986\u2019s \u201cAliens,\u201d Angelina Jolie in 2001\u2019s \u201cLara Croft: Tomb Raider,\u201d and Uma Thurman in 2003\u2019s \u201cKill Bill: Volume 1,\u201d as previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jennifer-lawrence-facing-backlash-after-claiming-she-was-first-lead-female-action-hero-variety-deletes-tweet\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Over in Hollywood, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Variety?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Variety<\/a> deleted a tweet that highlighted a quote from actress Jennifer Lawrence. It was so untrue, that is brought a swarm of criticism.
