Biden<\/em>, a civil lawsuit against the Biden administration over alleged free speech violations, Fauci acknowledged that Dr. Clifford Lane, clinical director at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/nihrecord.nih.gov\/2020\/04\/03\/niaids-lane-discusses-who-covid-19-mission-china\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appointed<\/a> to the February 2020 World Health Organization-China Joint Mission team, told Fauci that he was \u201cimpressed\u201d with China\u2019s successful management of the Covid outbreak. <\/p>\n<p>In doing so, Lane conveyed to Fauci his belief that \u201cextreme social distancing policies\u201d were essential to curtailing the spread of disease. During his deposition, Fauci stated that he had \u201cevery reason to believe\u201d the accuracy of Lane\u2019s evaluation and admitted that \u201csocial distancing, even by somewhat difficult means\u201d that involved \u201cessentially the entire community\u201d was possible in the U.S. as early as February 2020.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, a review of the earliest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Covid-19 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/downloads\/workplace-school-and-home-guidance.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidelines<\/a>, as well as Fauci\u2019s own <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/20793561\/leopold-nih-foia-anthony-fauci-emails.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emails<\/a> from the period, indicate that a WHO-backed, CCP-driven agenda informed the U.S. pandemic response from the beginning. Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx wielded the flimsiest of \u201cscientific evidence\u201d to beguile the American public while hiding their lockdown cards up their sleeves.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s aggressive and unprecedented approach to \u201cflattening the curve\u201d was neither ethically justified nor scientifically proven. Authorities from the WHO, Italy, France, Australia, and the U.S. knew that the elderly and those with underlying health conditions were the most at risk. In the vast majority of cases, the virus wasn\u2019t dangerous. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Joint Mission report, \u201capproximately 80 percent of laboratory confirmed patients [in China] had mild to moderate disease.\u201d In children under 19, Covid-19 was mild and constituted around 2.4 percent of reported cases; only 0.2 percent of children infected were in danger. The Joint Mission team lead and senior adviser to the WHO director-general, Dr. Bruce Aylward, emphasized that asymptomatic transmission chains were an \u201curban myth\u201d and that there was \u201cno evidence schools were driving transmission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet the Joint Mission exported the narrative that this was a \u201crapidly escalating and deadly epidemic\u201d and insisted that China\u2019s containment measures were \u201cproven to interrupt or minimize transmission chains.\u201d In lockstep, governments began deploying, with enthusiastic support from the press, an incremental terror campaign against their own citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. White House Coronavirus Taskforce <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/03\/09\/watch-coronavirus-task-force-holds-press-briefing-as-outbreak-widens.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> the initial CDC community control guidelines on March 9, 2020. Birx and Fauci cheerily explained that the \u201cscientific evidence that informed each of these guidelines\u201d came from research out of Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The paper referenced was authored by experts in epidemiology, population, and public health and was posted online only four days earlier, on March 5. Fauci forwarded it to Birx and then CDC Director Robert Redfield the night before the March 9 press conference. The authors hadn\u2019t been contacted by anyone from the U.S. government or the CDC, and the paper hadn\u2019t been peer-reviewed. When Dr. Carlos Del Rio, now president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, emailed Fauci after the briefing asking for a copy of the Australian paper, Fauci responded that it was \u201cnot for distribution\u201d as it was a preprint.<\/p>\n<p>The so-called \u201cscientific evidence\u201d was an absolute nothing burger. The paper\u2019s recommended preliminary social distancing measures for households, workplaces, schools, and commercial venues were based on two shaky assumptions. The first was that China had \u201cconstrained transmission of Covid \u2026 through rapid and intensive containment and mitigation interventions.\u201d This argument was rooted in the WHO\u2019s Joint Mission report and relied on infection data provided by Chinese authorities that showed an astonishing 83 percent drop in newly confirmed cases from the first day of the delegation\u2019s visit to its last day in China two weeks later.<\/p>\n<p>The second assumption was that hygiene and social distancing measures flattened the curve. However, the conceptual model pushed by the authors was not based on randomized controlled trials but on observational and simulation studies for influenza. <\/p>\n<p>In fact, the most comprehensive research paper cited by the authors <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwnc.cdc.gov\/eid\/article\/26\/5\/19-0995_article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acknowledges<\/a> the limitations of their own survey owing to the \u201crelatively low\u201d quality of the evidence. Worse, the review, originally published on February 6, 2020, finds \u201climited scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of [isolating exposed persons],\u201d \u201cno obvious rationale for the routine use of contract tracing in the general population,\u201d \u201cweak\u201d evidence for and \u201cmajor ethical concerns\u201d regarding home quarantine, some evidence for school closures, \u201climited\u201d evidence for workplace interventions and closures, and \u201climited\u201d evidence for avoiding crowding. In other words, of the six social distancing measures considered, all but one were found to have no proven benefit.<\/p>\n<p>Fauci and Birx fooled the public by presenting prima facie independent research that, in reality, was a mere hypothesis predicated on the CCP\u2019s lockdown narrative. Despite the cozy branding, the earliest CDC interventions were intended to pave the way for increasingly draconian restrictions. Indeed, the Australian researchers argued that a pre-emptive phase of interventions would \u201cassist [in preparing] for a more stringent phase.\u201d Author Dr. Craig Dalton later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/content\/article\/how-australian-researcher-ended-spotlight-white-house-coronavirus-briefing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reiterated<\/a> that preliminary measures would be followed by \u201cmore heavy-handed interventions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Birx even <a href=\"https:\/\/brownstone.org\/articles\/deborah-birxs-guide-to-destroying-a-country-from-within\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> that \u201cgetting buy-in on the simple mitigation measures \u2026 was just the first step leading to longer and more aggressive interventions\u201d while actively avoiding \u201cthe obvious appearance of a full lockdown.\u201d After convincing the Trump administration to implement a two-week shutdown, Birx was \u201ctrying to figure out how to extend it,\u201d even though she \u201cdidn\u2019t have the numbers \u2026 to make the case.\u201d Hence the \u201c15 days to slow the spread\u201d ruse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/03\/16\/politics\/white-house-guidelines-coronavirus\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> on March 16 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/03\/29\/821976925\/coronavirus-cases-soar-across-the-u-s-and-officials-say-worse-is-yet-to-come\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">evolved<\/a> into 45 days, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cstep-wise introduction of stringent measures,\u201d as the Australians <a href=\"https:\/\/papers.ssrn.com\/sol3\/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3549276\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">described<\/a> it, was central to bringing the population along. As Aylward had recommended, once trust was established, authorities could then adapt measures as the strategy was rolled out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding trust\u201d really meant driving fear. In a March 6<sup> <\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=reVadDRwy_A&#038;t=2243s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webinar<\/a> for Australian government health protection practitioners, one of Dalton\u2019s co-authors, Dr. Stephen Corbett, expressed doubt as to how China\u2019s containment strategy could be achieved in countries with a different \u201cpolitical structure.\u201d Aylward responded that \u201cwhat China had going for it\u201d was not \u201cfear of government\u201d but tapping into people\u2019s fear of death and disease. His remarks emphasized the \u201ceveryone has a role to play\u201d rhetoric that public officials around the world were cranking up as they justified pilfering civil rights.<\/p>\n<p>Amazingly, the people who endorsed CCP lockdown thuggery are clinging to the unscientific communist scam. In September, Aylward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/blood-your-hands-if-world-steps-back-tackling-covid-now-who-official-2022-09-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accused<\/a> nations of having blood on their hands if they stepped back from tackling Covid, Birx infamously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/08\/17\/health\/us-coronavirus-monday\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regretted<\/a> not going harder with the lockdowns and still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/deborah-birx-transcript-face-the-nation-08-21-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">believes<\/a> in asymptomatic transmission chains, and Fauci was only last week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/fauci-still-pushing-school-closures-chinese-propaganda-on-way-out\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">floating<\/a> the idea of further school closures. Dalton, who still congratulates himself over the contribution his research made to ensnaring the American public, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afr.com\/policy\/health-and-education\/forget-a-royal-commission-next-pandemic-we-need-a-public-health-army-20220126-p59rd5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thinks<\/a> Australia should set up a standing public health army to help fight the next pandemic and reduce the amount of time Australians will have to spend in lockdown. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cexperts\u201d who pushed this upon us won\u2019t learn a thing unless we replace \u201czero Covid\u201d with \u201czero amnesties,\u201d not only in solidarity with the Chinese people still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/12\/01\/china\/china-protests-lockdown-softening-covid-explainer-intl-hnk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caught up<\/a> in this madness but out of sheer self-preservation.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Carina Benton is a dual citizen of Australia and Italy and a permanent resident of the United States.
