It\u2019s not true.<\/p>\n<p>During <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/features\/jennifer-lawrence-viola-davis-action-heroes-motherhood-1235451405\/\">Variety\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=05EhMqgUpME\">Actors on Actors<\/a> interview, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jennifer-lawrence\">32-year-old actress<\/a> claimed she was the first woman ever to be cast in the lead role of an action film when she landed the part of Katniss Everdeen in the 2012 hit dystopian movie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember when I was doing \u2018Hunger Games,\u2019 nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn\u2019t work \u2014 because we were told girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead,\u201d Lawrence claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Lawrence spoke with fellow actress Viola Davis, who did not push back against the claim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just makes me so happy every single time I see a movie come out that just blows through every one of those beliefs, and proves that it is just a lie to keep certain people out of the movies,\u201d Lawrence added. \u201cTo keep certain people in the same positions that they\u2019ve always been in.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>For as far back as the 1980s, many women have landed action hero lead roles, such as sci-fi action heroes like Linda Hamilton in the monster 1984 hit \u201cThe Terminator,\u201d and Sigourney Weaver in \u201cAliens\u201d in 1986.<\/p>\n<p>There were also female action stars like Bridget Fonda in 1993\u2019s \u201cPoint of No Return,\u201d and Geena Davis in \u201cThe Long Kiss Goodnight\u201d in 1996. Not to mention actresses such as Angelina Jolie in 2001\u2019s \u201cLara Craft: Tomb Raider,\u201d Uma Thurman in \u201cKill Bill: Volume 1\u201d in 2003, and Milla Jovovich in \u201cResident Evil\u201d that same year.<\/p>\n<p>At one point in the interview, Lawrence also discussed how her career has changed since becoming a mother while making her new movie \u201cCauseway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI made the movie right before I got married,\u201d the actress shared. \u201cAnd then we had the pandemic. Two years later, I\u2019m pregnant, we go back, and we make the rest of it. It was the scariest thing in the entire world to think about making a family. What if I f*** up? What if I can\u2019t do it? And I was so scared that I would f*** it up. And it was so interesting to make a movie where I\u2019m feeling so scared and feeling this mirrored in Lynsey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery day of being a mom, I feel awful. I feel guilty,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m playing with him and I\u2019m like, \u2018Is this what he wants to be doing? Should we be outside? We\u2019re outside. What if he\u2019s cold? What if he\u2019s going to get sick? Should we be inside? Is this enough?
