None of the councilors declared their intention of imprisoning local residents in their manifestos of course, preferring to make vague claims about how they will \u2018improve the environment instead.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Every resident will be required to register their car with the County Council, which will then monitor how many times they leave their district via number plate recognition cameras. And don\u2019t think you can beat the system if you\u2019re a two-car household. Those two cars will be counted as one, meaning you will have to divide up the journeys between yourselves. 2 cars, 50 journeys each; 3 cars, 33 journeys each and so on.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Under the new rules, your social life becomes irrelevant. By de facto, Councils dictate how many times per year you can see friends and family. You will be stopped from fraternizing with anyone outside your district, and if you want a long-distance relationship in the future, forget it; you are confined to dating only those within a 15-minute walk of your house.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A single person\u2019s life will be at the mercy of Communists in the central office, dictating the same draconian rules we had to avert the last crisis, a mild flu virus so deadly 80% of people didn\u2019t even know they had it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>An entirely new social structure is being imposed on Oxford\u2019s residents ( and more cities are to follow) under the lie of saving the planet. but what it really is, is a plan for Command and Control. There will be permits, penalties and even more ubiquitous surveillance. Council officials will determine where you can go and how often, and will log every time you do. 15-minute cities, or 15 minute prisons?<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/6-large-banks-to-participate-in-pilot-social-credit-system-for-climate-scenario\/\">6 Large Banks to Participate In Pilot \u2018Social Credit System\u2019 for \u2018Climate Scenario\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to an article on The World Economic Forum\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/agenda\/2022\/03\/15-minute-city-stickiness\/#:~:text=Yet%20the%20%E2%80%9C15%2Dminute%20city,Seoul%2C%20from%20Bogot%C3%A1%20to%20Houston.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> website<\/a>, \u201915 minute\u2019 cities are a powerful tool for action:<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Urbanism trends come and go: Broadacre City, Radiant City, EcoCity. Yet the \u201c15-minute city\u201d concept\u2014which implies having all necessary amenities within a short walk, bike ride, or public transit trip from one\u2019s home\u2014has demonstrated stickiness not just as an idea, but as a powerful tool for action \u2013 from Paris to Seoul, from Bogot\u00e1 to Houston.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For longtime urbanists, the 15-minute city seemed to merely repackage the historic urban pattern of development: walkable, mixed-use districts. Old wine, new bottle, as the saying goes. But for a new framing to ignite a global urbanism movement, clearly there\u2019s more going on.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The obvious, yet incomplete, answer is the pandemic. Would Paris\u2019s Mayor Anne Hidalgo have pushed for progressive urban design without this framing? Undoubtedly. But with COVID-19 and its variants keeping everyone home (or closer to home than usual), the 15-minute city went from a \u201cnice-to-have\u201d to a rallying cry. Meeting all of one\u2019s needs within a walking, biking, or transit distance was suddenly a matter of life and death. The pandemic created an urgency around equitable urbanism that sidelined arguments about bike lanes and other \u201camenities\u201d that have roiled communities for years.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The term was coined in 2016 by Sorbonne professor Carlos Moreno, who was given an Obel Award in 2021 for developing the idea. The graph below comes from a Google Trend search of worldwide usage of the term; the peak in the middle is approximately November 15, 2020.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Such calls for draconian measures to fight climate change are nothing new.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2020, the Red Cross declared climate change is a more significant threat than COVID, saying it should be confronted with \u201cthe same urgency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bill Gates demanded <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/01\/08\/bill-gates-climate-change-could-be-worse-than-covid-19.html\" target=\"_blank\">dramatic measures<\/a> to stop climate change, arguing it would be worse than the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Former governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, said that climate deaths would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/business-55944570\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dwarf <\/a>those of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>So what is the solution? More lockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Politicians and government know that fear helps the public to accept dramatic curtailing of freedoms, especially with vague promises of safety. The COVID lockdowns proved this.
