And for my brother to be born with cerebral palsy, then have a heart transplant, then have this random blood clot,\u201d the \u201cJobs\u201d actor said in a teaser clip shared by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/ashton-kutchers-twin-brother-michael-shares-why-they-drifted-apart-exclusive-195440\">Entertainment Tonight<\/a>. \u201cThese things where you\u2019re like, \u2018Who has to go through that? JOIN US AND SAVE 30%.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Dr. Agus asked why the brothers drifted apart, Michael admitted to the reason. \u201cJealousy for sure, at least on my part,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ashton went on to describe how his viewpoint changed over time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a moment in all of this where I moved to New York and was starting to get some traction with my career and Mike came out to visit and stay, and he looked at me and he said, \u2018Every time you feel sorry for me, you make me less,&#8217;\u201d the actor said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018This is the only life I\u2019ve ever known, so stop feeling sorry for the only thing I have.\u2019 And that then created an entire shift back to where I think we are today, which is straight up equals. That\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael said during a May 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2021\/05\/21\/ashton-kutcher-brother-michael-recalls-feelings-on-cerebral-palsy-diagnosis\/5203772001\/\">interview<\/a> that he previously had a falling out with his twin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very angry. Very angry. I remember speaking to him about it,\u201d Michael continued. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to be the face of CP. I never talked about it,\u201d he said of Ashton revealing to the world that he had cerebral palsy in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Michael calls Ashton by his real name, Chris, and says he stuck up for him during childhood in the face of bullies who called him \u201cevery name in the book on the playground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy brother picked a fight with them. He stood up for me. He wanted them to treat me with respect,\u201d Michael said. \u201cAnd that meant a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael also said Ashton refused to attend sleepovers without him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the time they\u2019d say yes, but sometimes they\u2019d say no and Chris would go, \u2018Well, then I\u2019m not coming,\u2019\u201d Michael said. \u201cChris would tell me, \u2018I wish I could take all of this off of you \u2014 and take it myself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ashton Kutcher said he used to feel sorry for his disabled twin brother Michael, but has since come to regard him as an equal.
