America deserves to know whether we have a FAKE President in the Oval Office.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Despite including some of the very evidence showing Jeffries\u2019 election skepticism, Aguilera insisted, \u201cCalling Jeffries an \u2018election denier\u2019 is misleading and conflates different issues.\u201d Why is it misleading? Because Time wants you to associate \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/22\/the-election-denier-smear-is-the-dumbest-rhetorical-device-in-modern-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">election denialism<\/a>\u201d \u2014 a grammatically ridiculous phrase anyway, since no one is denying that an election <em>happened<\/em> \u2014 only with the right.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the magazine says, the smear exists to describe Republican Trump voters <em>only<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The term \u2018election denier\u2019 has taken on a particular meaning, however, after Trump\u2019s failed re-election campaign. The phrase has come to be associated with Republicans who claim the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, assert without evidence there was fraud in 2020 voting, and cast doubt on secure voting systems \u2014 claims that lead to the deadly January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Claims of a \u201cstolen\u201d election? Democrats like Jeffries did that in 2016. Accusations of fraud? Democrats only, you know, insisted that an entire foreign country rigged our election, based on a bogus dossier that was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/18\/spygate-101-a-primer-on-the-russia-collusion-hoaxs-years-long-plot-to-take-down-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commissioned<\/a> by the Hillary Clinton campaign. \u201cCast doubt on secure voting systems\u201d? Yep. <\/p>\n<p>The piece says Republicans exercising their freedom of speech to raise concerns about the unprecedented administration of the 2016 election would \u201clead to the deadly January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.\u201d (Legacy media outlets love to describe the events of Jan. 6 as \u201cdeadly,\u201d to evoke the mortality rates of events such as 9\/11 or Pearl Harbor or the Civil War, all of which they\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/10\/americas-justice-system-says-jan-6-was-neither-a-terrorist-attack-nor-an-insurrection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compared<\/a> the Capitol riot to. In reality, of the five people who died, one <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/4HtJj#selection-597.133-597.177\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">died<\/a> of a heart attack, another of a stroke, and another of an accidental drug overdose. A Capitol Police officer died of stroke-related \u201cnatural causes\u201d the next day. The only participant killed by another person was a demonstrator shot to death by police.) Election protests-turned-violent are nothing new to Democrats, however; in 2016, nationwide <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/thousands-us-protest-president-elect-donald-trump\/story?id=43427653\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demonstrations<\/a> by \u201ctens of thousands\u201d over Trump\u2019s election \u201cresulted in at least 124 arrests and reports of damage, vandalism and injuries in several locations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aguilera continued her attempt to differentiate Republican \u201celection denial\u201d from Democrats\u2019 totally-above-board-and-not-at-all-the-same behavior:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n[T]he actions taken by Trump and his supporters leading up to 2020 election and after were unprecedented. Trump stoked false conspiracies of voter fraud, filed more than 60 election-related lawsuits, and pressured officials to interfere with election results.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The now-debunked Russia collusion hoax sure seems to fit the \u201cfalse conspiracies\u201d description. Lawsuits? Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/lxbgh#selection-579.138-579.193\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sued<\/a> Trump and the GOP in four swing states in 2016 over trumped-up charges of a \u201ccoordinated campaign of vigilante voter intimidation.\u201d Even two years later in 2018, the Democratic National Committee sued Trump, his son, his son-in-law, campaign officials, Russia, and WikiLeaks with accusations of \u201cconspiring to disrupt the 2016 presidential election,\u201d as CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/04\/20\/democratic-party-files-suit-alleging-russia-the-trump-campaign-and-wikileaks-conspired-to-disrupt-the-2016-election-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. Democrat operatives such as lawyer Marc Elias (formerly of Perkins Coie, the law firm that hired Fusion GPS to come up with the Steele dossier for the Clinton campaign) file countless election-related lawsuits and get <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/S7ky3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">puff pieces in The Washington Post<\/a> in return. <\/p>\n<p>Pressuring officials to \u201cinterfere with election results\u201d? Democrats don\u2019t have to apply much pressure. In 2016, the FBI launched its \u201cCrossfire Hurricane\u201d investigation into the Trump campaign purportedly on the basis of the Steele dossier around the same time FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/17\/deranged-russia-hoaxer-peter-strzok-is-back-with-one-of-the-most-unhinged-trump-conspiracy-theories-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discussing<\/a> how Trump was \u201cnot ever going to become president\u201d because \u201cWe\u2019ll stop it.\u201d In 2020, Big Tech companies interfered in the election by censoring stories like the Hunter Biden laptop bombshell, as well as throttling journalists and elected officials who dissented from the official narrative on Covid and other issues.<\/p>\n<p>As far as Time is concerned, the real difference between Jeffries\u2019 election skepticism and that of Trump voters in 2020 is the little letter next to the election winner\u2019s name. If \u201celection denier\u201d doesn\u2019t describe what Jeffries and other Democrats did in 2016, then it doesn\u2019t mean anything at all. The phrase is just a nonsense smear invented to chill speech, silence challenges to the regime, and paint Republicans as unelectable.
