The move <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/it-was-our-happy-place-families-cancel-disney-trips-abandon-disney-plus-over-companys-woke-ideology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">angered some consumers<\/a> and resulted in Disney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-florida-house-votes-to-strip-disney-world-of-its-self-government\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">losing<\/a> special regulatory and tax privileges in the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n<p>Iger, who returned to his old post to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/reeling-disney-fires-ceo-as-woke-culture-blamed-for-stock-plunge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">replace<\/a> his successor Bob Chapek last month, affirmed that \u201cLGBTQ employees\u201d at Disney are \u201cvery important to us\u201d and argued that the controversial content was not truly \u201cpolitical\u201d in nature. He nevertheless cited the \u201cdelicate balance\u201d between telling stories and \u201clistening\u201d to audience members in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1597683598496526338?s=46&#038;t=0RXDRW0hEZgecbqiTPMTmA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">videos<\/a> obtained by Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is reluctantly dissociating,\u201d Shapiro commented. \u201cThis is why I say that I don\u2019t trust Disney at all, because what he\u2019s saying is, \u2018It\u2019s not really political. When we inject LGBTQ messaging into a children\u2019s film, that\u2019s not political, guys. Evidence suggests that some consumers agree: Among other concerning metrics, Disney reported a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/u-s-subscriptions-at-ultra-woke-disney-slow-to-a-crawl-after-company-loses-left-wing-political-battles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">significant slowdown<\/a> in new domestic subscriptions for Disney+ immediately after leaping into the fray of contentious social issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see that he\u2019s not particularly happy about having to acknowledge that Disney shouldn\u2019t have gotten involved in Florida,\u201d Shapiro continued, observing that the entertainment conglomerate\u2019s stock price has dropped precipitously over the past year. \u201cReality is a two-by-four and it clocked Mickey Mouse across the head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iger, who is reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-ex-disney-ceo-bob-iger-near-top-of-bidens-ambassador-wishlist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more left-leaning<\/a> in his personal politics than Chapek, admitted during the meeting that \u201cit\u2019s important to have respect for the people that you\u2019re serving, that you\u2019re trying to reach, and not have disdain for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/exclusive-poll-over-60-of-americans-back-floridas-limits-on-k-3-lessons-on-sexual-orientation-and-gender-identity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> from The Daily Wire, 64% of Americans, including 62% of Democrats and 57% of independents, supported the Florida law that Disney publicly opposed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeems as though the message is actually getting in. Again, it\u2019s a message that Bob Iger and Disney don\u2019t want to receive, but they are beginning to receive it. And the Left is going to continue to receive these messages,\u201d Shapiro remarked. \u201cIf there are interest groups, if there are parents, if there are citizens who are willing to stand up and just say, \u2018No, we are not going to consume the product that you are using in order to inject politics into my children.
