Ron DeSantis is the solid frontrunner to win the 2024 presidential election, according to one betting site that\u2019s keeping running odds on the race.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has dropped in the odds, and Vice President Kamala Harris has plunged to just a 4.8% probability of winning should she somehow secure the Democratic Party\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis, who has not announced whether he\u2019ll seek the White House, has nearly a one in three chance, standing at 30.8%, according to the projections.<\/p>\n<p>Following the 2022 midterms in November and Trump\u2019s official announcement that he would seek the 2024 Republican nomination, he held the No. 2 position.\u00a0But Trump has been embroiled in a swamp of controversy ever since. \u201cAs of today, Trump\u2019s odds have decreased to 20%,\u201d the betting site Empire Stakes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empirestakes.com\/ny-sports-betting\/presidential-election-odds\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><a class=\"c-link\" tabindex=\"-1\" href=\"https:\/\/get.dailywire.com\/subscribe\/plus?utm_campaign=dwplus&#038;utm_medium=editorial&#038;utm_source=dwsite&#038;cid=dwplus&#038;mid=z&#038;xid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/get.dailywire.com\/subscribe\/plus?utm_campaign=dwplus&#038;utm_medium=editorial&#038;utm_source=dwsite&#038;cid=dwplus&#038;mid=z&#038;xid=0\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">TIRED OF THE LEGACY MEDIA\u2019S BIAS CONTROLLING THE NARRATIVE AND OBSCURING THE TRUTH? JOIN US AND SAVE 30%.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis puts him in third place behind current President Joe Biden, who gained 2.2% and is now 2nd most likely to be re-elected in 2024,\u201d the site said.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a big change since July when Biden was in third.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden\u2019s crushed approval ratings and worsening betting odds are causing Democrats to wonder if he is the right figure to take on Trump in 2024,\u201d Joe Short of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gambling.com\/us\">Gambling<\/a>.com <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bookies-biden-now-third-place-in-the-odds-to-win-2024-election\">told<\/a> The Daily Wire then. \u201cAccording to the Wall Street Journal, Democrats expect him to go for a second term at the age of 82, but they\u2019re not sure he should.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo make matters even worse for Biden, he is now third favorite to win the 2024 US Presidential election, behind both Trump (3\/1) and Florida\u2019s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis (4\/1),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Short said that Biden initially appeared willing to cede power to his Vice President Kamala Harris after just one term, but she\u2019s not faring too well to bookies, either. She has \u201cfloated way out to 12\/1 with bet365 to be the next U.S. president. Evidently, punters and U.K. bookmakers are looking no further than Biden when it comes to Democratic names in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Harris\u2019 plunge in the odds is not that surprising. For the last several months, Democrats have been openly musing about her future, with some liberal news sites and party leaders saying she shouldn\u2019t run in 2024 if Biden bails.<\/p>\n<p>A September <a href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2022\/09\/28\/democrats-believe-biden-should-run-2024-primary-harris\/\">survey<\/a> from Morning Consult found that just 28% of Democratic voters would vote for Harris in a Democratic presidential primary without Biden on the ballot, down from 33% in a poll last year.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/news-and-politics\/2022\/11\/kamala-harris-joe-biden-new-vp-2024.html\">Slate<\/a> last month was the latest liberal site to come out against Harris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Joe Biden weighs a run for re-election even as he becomes the first octogenarian U.S. president in history, he should think back on what it was like to watch the Harris campaign flame out,\u201d Christina Cauterucci wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarris, a proven dud of a presidential candidate who has done little to distinguish herself since is not a good choice for the Democrats\u2019 top billing.
