Sandler said he\u2019s been playing it at the end of each set on his current comedy tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first few times we played that song, I would tear up, and I couldn\u2019t really sing it well because I get so emotional,\u201d he said during the interview, per <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/celebrity\/adam-sandler-chris-farley-song-still-emotional\/\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cAnd then I got kind of like, I felt it and was able to get it out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s weird, but when that song starts, I go, \u2018Oh f***, alright, don\u2019t cry, and don\u2019t do that.\u2019 Still. I\u2019ve sung it maybe a hundred times already, but it rocks me,\u201d Sandler continued. \u201cI think it\u2019s because we show video of Chris, and I see his face, and I remember his dad, and I remember I\u2019m friends with his brothers and his mom and everybody, and they still miss him a lot. So, yeah, it gets me.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Farley and Sandler performed on \u201cSNL\u201d before both left the sketch comedy show in 1995. They also worked together on several films and remained close friends until Farley died from a drug overdose in 1997 when he was 33.<\/p>\n<p>Sandler started performing the tribute song in 2019 and said it was always well-received. \u201cI love hearing the crowd go nuts for Farley. Every show I do, by far the biggest applause of the night is talking about Farley,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery time I mention his name here and the audience goes nuts, it feels great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cHappy Gilmore\u201d actor said he\u2019s not the only one who gets choked up hearing the song. Their other friend and \u201cSNL\u201d co-star David Spade, who Sandler also mentions in the song, gets emotional whenever it\u2019s being performed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDavid came out and did five shows, and he\u2019s like, \u2018Man, sometimes I can\u2019t listen, I\u2019ve gotta walk away because I get so upset,\u201d Sandler said. \u201cWe loved him. We loved him so much.
