The younger Biden was joined Sunday by wife Melissa Cohen Biden for the reception, which was hosted by President <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a> in the East Room. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/republicans-prepare-hunter-biden-investigations-after-midterms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HOUSE REPUBLICANS PREPARE TO OPEN HUNTER BIDEN INVESTIGATIONS AFTER MIDTERM ELECTIONS<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Pool reports stated that the president&#8217;s son was seated toward the back of the room when two reporters approached him. One asked him about Musk <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/elon-musk-promises-release-more-hunter-biden-info\">publicizing details<\/a> on how his newly acquired social media platform responded in the wake of the October 2020 <i>New York Post<\/i> report on documents obtained from his personal hard drive. The other asked about the House Republican investigations into his business dealings. <\/p>\n<p>According to the first reporter, Hunter Biden smiled at them and walked away without responding. <\/p>\n<p>The reaction is not entirely surprising. The 52-year-old has largely avoided speaking to the media since his father&#8217;s 2020 election. <\/p>\n<p>The younger Biden&#8217;s financial affairs, including millions of dollars&#8217; worth of dealings and money transfers tied to countries such as Ukraine, China, and Russia, have been under federal scrutiny since 2018. Party leaders have <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/hunter-biden-joe-biden-business-deals-republican-house\">repeatedly vowed<\/a> to investigate the first son&#8217;s financial dealings and any ties they may have to the president. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investigation will be a top priority,\u201d Rep.
