Little else surprising emerged from the first installment of \u201cThe Twitter Files,\u201d but the concrete proof provided by new owner Elon Musk of Twitter\u2019s entanglement with the government and Democrat interests nonetheless vindicated conservatives who have been screaming for years of Big Tech\u2019s squelching of their speech. <\/p>\n<p>The Twitter Files should raise the ire of all Americans, however, and not because of what they expose about tech companies \u2014 but because they illustrate the corporate media\u2019s complicity in the censorship of stories that prove harmful to powerful people and preferred politicians.<\/p>\n<p>A little over a week ago, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%2540elonmusk%2520%2522the%2520twitter%2520files%2522&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweeted<\/a> a promise to release evidence of the company\u2019s \u201cfree speech suppression\u201d in what he branded The Twitter Files. \u201cThe public deserves to know what really happened,\u201d the new Twitter owner stressed. Late Friday, Musk kept his promise when Taibbi published a detailed Twitter thread highlighting, with screen grabs, high-level internal Twitter discussions concerning the company\u2019s censorship of posts and specifically the blocking of the New York Post\u2019s story about the Hunter Biden laptop.<\/p>\n<p>The Post published its exclusive bombshell report on emails <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">culled<\/a> from a laptop Hunter Biden abandoned at a Delaware computer repair store a mere three weeks before the U.S. presidential election. \u201cHow Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad,\u201d the Post titled its Oct. 14, 2020 story that then opened by detailing that an email confirmed Hunter had introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma \u201cless than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.\u201d The email to Hunter, dated April 17, 2015, came from Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma \u2014 a board on which Hunter served \u201cat a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to the Post\u2019s article.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Soon after the Post broke the story, Twitter and Facebook \u201cdeprecated\u201d the story, meaning the social media giants prevented the algorithm code from allowing the story to be amplified. By mid-afternoon, however, Twitter moved to banning the sharing of the story both in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefdrlst.wpengine.com\/2020\/10\/14\/twitter-blocks-users-from-linking-to-the-new-york-posts-bombshell-hunter-biden-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweets<\/a> and in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefdrlst.wpengine.com\/2020\/10\/14\/twitter-blocks-users-from-linking-to-the-new-york-posts-bombshell-hunter-biden-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">direct messages<\/a>. At the time, \u201cTwitter representatives pointed press to the company\u2019s hacked material policy, which prohibits sharing links to or images of hacked content.
