What was missing were details of specific warnings we know the FBI made to Twitter about a Russian \u201chack and leak operation\u201d involving Hunter during their weekly meetings with top executives of the social media giant in the days and weeks before The Post published its exclusive bombshell.<\/p>\n<p>We know that FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan testified Tuesday in a lawsuit against the Biden administration brought by Republican attorneys that he organized those<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/11\/02\/how-the-government-hid-the-truth-behind-hunter-bidens-laptop\/\"> weekly meetings with Twitter and Facebook in San Francisco <\/a>for as many as seven Washington-based FBI agents in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter\u2019s then-head of Site Integrity Yoel Roth has stated in a sworn declaration that he was told during those meetings to expect \u201chack-and-leak operations\u201d by state actors involving Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter cited its new \u201chacked materials\u201d policy on October 14, 2020, when it locked The Post\u2019s account for two weeks and censored our story revealing an email from Hunter\u2019s Ukrainian benefactor thanking him for meeting with his father, the then-VP, in Washington, DC. The email was not \u201chacked material\u201d; it came from Hunter\u2019s laptop, which was the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/11\/hunter-biden-laptop-repairman-says-fbi-threatened-him-to-stay-silent\/\">legal possession of Delaware computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac<\/a>. The Post published an image of the Dec. 2019 subpoena issued to Mac Isaac for the laptop which Hunter had abandoned at his store eight months earlier.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>Musk\u2019s much anticipated \u201cTwitter Files\u201d were delivered more than 90 minutes late Friday, beginning at 6:34 pm and trickling out via a series of linked tweets, or \u201cthread,\u201d for two hours via the account of substack journalist Matt Taibbi. <\/p>\n<p>Taibbi said he had been shown no evidence of the collusion between the FBI and Twitter that we know occurred.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough several sources recalled hearing about a \u2018general\u2019 warning from federal law enforcement that summer about possible foreign hacks, there\u2019s no evidence \u2014 that I\u2019ve seen \u2014 of any government involvement in the laptop story.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-slideshow\" data-component=\"inlineSlideshow\">\n<div and that Twitter took \u201cextraordinary steps\u201d to kill The Post story, \u201cremoving links and posting warnings that it may be \u2018unsafe.\u2019 \u201d\u201cThey even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk reveals that a crucial player in Twitter\u2019s censorship of The Post was former FBI general counsel James Baker, a central player in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/12\/11\/ig-report-shows-russia-hoax-a-coup-attempt-devine\/\">Russia collusion hoax,<\/a> who had \u201ccaution is warranted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this stage it is reasonable for us to assume that [the Post had published \u2018hacked material\u2019] and that caution is warranted. \u201cThere are some facts that indicate that the materials may have been hacked while there are others indicating that the computer was either abandoned and\/or the owner consented to allow the repair shop to access for at least some purposes. We simply need more information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden campaign routinely requested tweets be deleted in 2020.
