The idea that there were conservatives inside Twitter who agreed to suppress the <em>Post <\/em>article is not anywhere in Taibbi\u2019s thread.<\/p>\n<p>What is in the thread is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598834882414727168\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">people struggling<\/a> to accept the hack explanation, but <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598835411262279680\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">not be willing<\/a> to do anything about it. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598831435288563712\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Taibbi also reports<\/a> the extraordinary measure of resorting to suppression, noting that such methods were usually reserved for things such as child pornography.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, Zadrozny still claimed, \u201cit looked like, this weird story\u00a0of a laptop left in some, like, repair shop, it looked like a hack and\u00a0leak.\u00a0That&#8217;s what people inside\u00a0Twitter thought it was.\u00a0And so, they acted a little\u00a0fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After claiming censoring the article made Twitter look good, Zadrozny unwittingly contradicted herself by reporting that Twitter officials admit they acted too quickly:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>And when we heard that from Yoel Roth,\u00a0the former head of trust and\u00a0safety two days ago on Kara Swisher\u2019s\u00a0podcast, he said that.\u00a0He didn&#8217;t agree with this idea.\u00a0The day after it happened, Jack\u00a0came out and said I don&#8217;t agree\u00a0with what happened, that happened too quickly.\u00a0Because content moderation is a\u00a0human activity.\u00a0It&#8217;s stuff that we do as\u00a0humans.\u00a0To, you know, fulfill the north star of\u00a0whatever organization we have.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is interesting that Zadrozny cites <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598834231794315265\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Dorsey<\/a> when Taibbi\u2019s thread says the decision was made without his input.
