But that fight isn&#8217;t over,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline image-ct\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxbusiness.com\/foxbusiness.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/931\/523\/RAIL-2.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"A worker rides a rail car at a BNSF rail crossing\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p><span>FILE &#8211; A worker rides a rail car at a BNSF rail crossing in Saginaw, Texas, Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022.\u00a0<\/span><span> (AP Photo\/LM Otero, File \/ AP Newsroom)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Roadway mechanic Reece Murtagh was more direct, telling CNN Friday that unionized workers&#8217; collective bargaining rights have been &#8220;trampled on.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Their voice has not been heard, they voted against the contract,&#8221; Murtagh said. &#8220;We have a pro-labor president who loves to, you know, pat himself on the back for that, and when the going got tough, he turned his back on the people he\u2019s supposed to be looking out for.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The newly enacted law codifies a July deal negotiated by rail unions and the administration that would raise workers&#8217; pay by\u00a024% over a five-year period from 2020 through 2024, including an immediate payout on average of $11,000 upon ratification.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The agreement passed by Congress was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/transportation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approved by eight of 12 transportation unions<\/a> involved in negotiations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The four dissenting unions said the deal was unfair because it included insufficient paid-sick leave time.
