James Comer (R-KY), who is currently the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, made the declaration Friday night following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/musk-releases-hunter-biden-files-tweets-deleted-at-behest-of-team-biden-exec-was-key-behind-censorship-decision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">publication<\/a> of internal Twitter communications about how to handle a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> story about the contents of the laptop believed to have belonged to President Joe Biden\u2019s son, including details about Hunter\u2019s business dealings, drug use, and sex life. The temporary suppression of the story has led to claims of <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/109449803240069864\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">improper election influence<\/a> by former President Donald Trump and his allies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn January, Jason, when I take your old position as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, I can promise you this: Every employee at Twitter who was involved in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story will have an opportunity to come before Congress and explain their actions to the American people,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2022\/12\/03\/comer-every-twitter-employee-involved-in-squelching-hunter-laptop-story-will-testify-before-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comer told Jason Chaffetz<\/a>, a former congressman who was guest-hosting in place of Fox News\u2019 Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a huge story,\u201d he added. Comer then went a bit further, saying, \u201cThis story\u2019s just beginning \u2026 because we\u2019re going to have every single person at Twitter that was involved in this in front of the House Oversight Committee as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The string of Twitter messages were published Friday evening with the blessing of CEO Elon Musk by journalist Matt Taibbi, who said the decision to crack down on the reporting \u201cwas made at the highest levels of the company, but without the knowledge of CEO Jack Dorsey, with former head of legal, policy and trust Vijaya Gadde playing a key role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the other officials revealed to have been involved in discussions about the decision to limit the reach of the story under the site\u2019s \u201chacked materials\u201d policy was Twitter\u2019s deputy general counsel, former top FBI lawyer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/top-fbi-lawyer-turned-twitter-counsel-supported-decision-to-suppress-hunter-biden-laptop-story-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Baker<\/a>. The disclosure led Yoel Roth, Twitter\u2019s former Sr. Director, Head of Trust &#038; Safety, to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ex-twitter-executive-elon-musk-is-putting-us-in-harms-way-by-showing-how-we-censored-content\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raise concerns<\/a> about the potential for harm posed to those whose identities were revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the messages showed deliberations within Twitter as to how to respond to requests from the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598828601268469760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cBiden team\u201d (likely the presidential campaign of Joe Biden, Hunter\u2019s father) and the \u201cDNC\u201d<\/a> (likely the Democratic National Committee), apparently asking to delete certain tweets.<\/p>\n<p>Taibbi stressed that he has seen no evidence of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598833927405215744\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">any government involvement in the laptop story<\/a>,\u201d though he noted several sources who recalled hearing about a \u201cgeneral\u201d warning from federal law enforcement that summer about possible foreign hacks. The journalist also said \u201cboth parties\u201d had the ability to request that certain posts be reviewed and deleted. \u201cFor instance, in 2020, requests from both the Trump White House and the Biden campaign were received and honored,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtaibbi\/status\/1598828932395978752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taibbi tweeted<\/a>, adding that the system appeared to be skewed in favor of the Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Comer explained how Republicans have already made moves to prepare for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/republican-snags-california-district-after-nail-biter-in-lingering-2022-house-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taking over the House<\/a> in the next term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew that the [Democratic] National Committee was communicating with Twitter.
