It\u2019s that simple. Help him learn- but he should be playing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James wanted to know why reporters did not ask him about a photo that recently surfaced of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones standing in a crowd of a few dozen white kids who apparently were trying to block some black students from being able to enter Arkansas\u2019 North Little Rock High.<\/p>\n<p>Jones told The Post that he did not participate and he was only there to witness what was happening. \u201cI don\u2019t know that I or anybody anticipated or had a background of knowing \u2026 what was involved,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/interactive\/2022\/jerry-jones-black-coaches-nfl\/?itid=lk_inline_manual_2\">said<\/a>. \u201cIt was more a curious thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got one question for you guys before you guys leave. I was thinking when I was on my way over here, I was wondering why I haven\u2019t gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo,\u201d James asked reporters at a press conference this week. \u201cBut when the Kyrie [Irving] thing was going on, you guys were quick to ask us questions about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I watch Kyrie talk and he says, \u2018I know who I am, but I want to keep the same energy when we\u2019re talking about my people and the things that we\u2019ve been through,\u2019 and that Jerry Jones photo is one of those moments that our people, black people, have been through in America,\u201d James continued. \u201cAnd I feel like as a black man, as a black athlete, as someone with power and a platform, when we do something wrong, or something that people don\u2019t agree with, it\u2019s on every single tabloid, every single news coverage, it\u2019s on the bottom ticker. It\u2019s asked about every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it seems like to me that the whole Jerry Jones situation, photo \u2014 and I know it was years and years ago and we all make mistakes, I get it \u2014 but it seems like it\u2019s just been buried under, like, \u2018Oh, it happened.
